I'm no evaluator of talent, but Brown seems to be tremendously more athletic than Settle.

Have you seen this kid's film? Derrick Brown reminds me of Shy Tuttle not the fat lard that is Tim Settle. Both guys are uber athletes for being 320 lbs.

Derrick Brown is still a real possibility and he is still scheduled to visit Tennessee Jan. 29. Auburn and Mississippi State are still very much involved and it's yet to be seen where exactly he is on Georgia's board with new Bulldog coach Kirby Smart still filling out his staff. He was at Alabama this past weekend for a visit but it's not clear where the Tide are on Brown's list of schools.

Nah..I think DCG is the real deal. He is going to be really good, and it sucks losing him, but DB is better. If we get him it takes most of the sting out of it.

Losing DCG hurt but I agree Brown is huge. We really could have used both to potentially red shirt them next year and start building that future depth we need. They could have been the eventual replacements to Shy and Kahlil when they go pro early.

We don't have near enough depth to be able to redshirt players like Brown...on the DL at least. He'd be in the top 2 rotations easy next season.

Butcher ain't growing into Derrick Brown soon enough. You manage to sign Brown, you ain't stealing a year. He's good enough to declare himself in 3, so might as well let him play the first...rather than trying to make do with Picou.
