Well if he does decommit, I can't say that I would be that disappointed especially if we get Laguins but I would bet some of the idiots in here lose their minds.

With the rumors of Thig being possibly out this post seems to contradict that IMO.

Would seem odd for a Thig to be the one make the contact about CJJs departure if he himself was about to he let go.

You might be putting the cart before the horse here. We still don't have anything official about a DC yet. That will have to happen days before anything happens with other assistants. Can't expect them all to stop working just because negotiations seem to be going well with Shoop.

I agree with what you are saying to some extent but imo If Thig is likely or even potenially out then the HC is the better coach to touch base with a Kid about CJJ.

That's assuming Thig was the one who made the call and not Blakely though. We don't know who reached out to whom.

I'm starting to doubt EZ's info about Thig and Martinez, especially given what VQ said last night.

I have no idea what the info is, but I tend to doubt most any info regarding coaching changes or hires. Especially when they are being run by Butch Jones. Everyone was ready to hand the open position to Nick Sheridan when Elder departed for EKU. To my knowledge, nobody mentioned Larry Scott. I doubt anyone even imagined the scenario.

We will know by midweek next week who our new DC will be. It may be Bob Shoop, it could be Gene Chizik, it could be Todd Orlando, it could be Marion Hobby or it could be someone that has not been mentioned.

I agree that there seems to be some smoke surrounding Thig sticking around, but at the same time I'm not sure we should look too much into things with assistants until we hire a DC or they're actually given raises.
