Mizzou is just ab on par with Vandy in terms of overall talent right now. They got about 5 good players left going into 2016 and one of them is suspended now (Beckner)

I was reading some early projections recently and it seemed like they would still be in decent shape on defense this year in spite of losing a couple of key contributors. Their offense on the other hand...

yeh im sure the defense will be decent. Sucks to lose Brothers, Dennis and Simon in the secondary though. The offense will once again be a disaster. I think they draw LSU from the west this yr too. They go to Morgantown also to play WVU.

We aren't good at this slow play game for backup plans.

I understand that this comment is a few weeks old, but I just saw it now and wanted to respond to it.

Nobody's good at the backup game. It's a difficult, difficult game. You have to string a kid along, keeping him interested but not allowing him to commit in case that coveted 5* wants in. And then if you miss, you have to convince the backup that you actually wanted him all along even though everybody in the room knows you're lying.

It's easy for us as fans because we don't know any of these kids - we can just sit here behind our laptops and pick kids like apples at the produce market. But the coaches have to get to know them, and playing people like this is hard and emotional - especially when you're dealing with teenagers.

For a kid like Zack Moss, he's had to shelve his pride. He knows we're only taking him if we miss on better players, but on the other hand it's his only shot to upgrade from the Colorado tier of schools to the Tennessee tier. But a lot of kids would rather be wanted at Colorado than taken as a last resort at Tennessee, and that's totally understandable.

some kids do a good job evaluating themselves. They see they can have more playing time and more personal success playing in a different league than being 3rd string at a big school.

Ended up picking Wake Forest over Mizzou. Mizzou fans are saying other coaches really sold the CS1950 argument that the campus is full of racists to recruits.
