'16 LA DT D'Andre Christmas-Giles - (Former UT Commit 8/29/15)

Not a chance. LSU can offer an in state kid 5 minutes before NSD and 90% of the time he will be a Tiger.

Only one I can think of in this situation recently that didn't flip was Dak Prescott.

Gross misrepresentation. If a kid grew up in Louisiana and was a big fan your statement is pretty spot on. You grouping every kid in Louisiana into that category is ridiculous.

You do know DCG didn't grow up an LSU fan. There was an interview after he committed. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think he's even a native of Louisiana.

You're right if this was a kid who grew up in Louisiana but I'm not sure that's DCG.

That didn't work out so well for him either. The fact that this staff identified DCG before anyone else and made him an offer should tell the kid all he needs to know. Everyone thought this staff was crazy to give a committable offer. That goes to show you how great they are at talent evaluation and they're doing a great job coaching up D-linemen too.

LSU is not a great place to be since Chavis left.

Great post.

I absolutely agree, particularly in regards to Chavis. Chavis is one of the best at developing D-linemen in the nation. Most pass rushing D-linemen would be much better off under Jancek and Stripling than under Kevin Steele. (And I'm not just saying that because I'm a UT fan.) Statistically, that LSU defense declined significantly this season.

Think we have a reasonable shot at hanging onto DCG.

I think I read somewhere that he is a Wisconsin native.

I tend to agree on the percentages, but everyone in the end is an individual. Not sure the offer is commitable, idk, I don't keep up with this stuff so much anymore. From what I was told LSU is basically looking for 4-5 DTs this class, LB is actually a bigger issue for 2016.

There was some talk of Logan as possible decommitment, and Lawrence hasn't committed yet. LSU is not in desperation mode at DT as they are at LB, but one or two freshmen could probably get snaps if they are ready... and DT is the second biggest need medium term.

Christmas has constantly moved up the boards due to a strong senior, he reminds me of Neal (LSU), not sure he has a true position.

He'd have another offer within thirty minutes.

Maybe but that is not the point, ultimately if a kid is going to a school which is based solely or mostly on a coach... chances are they are going to be disappointed. If I were a defensive player would I go to TAM based on Chavis, absolutely not, probably the last place in the SEC I would go, and it has nothing to do with Chavis.
