If he climbs the rankings it's a boom, but everyone in here booming just because we got a commit is a little startling. Let's see what he ends up as. LSU should be all over this guy if he is any good an Bama. I'm not saying he can't be good but let's pump the brakes.
Yeah they were really snubbed by giving a playoff bid to the national champion rather than them. Get a conference championship, or don't lose any games. Take your pick.
A little more than two days after Corey Henderson announced his commitment to Tennessee, he's still just as excited about his future with the Vols.
The three-star junior wide receiver from Shreveport, La. who committed to Tennessee on Monday, just two days after he visited the Vols for the first time posted on his Twitter account early Thursday morning that the Vols are "About To Rise," and that's "why I Chose the University of Tennessee."
"I feel like the best way to only get better by day is to surround myself by better people, that's the truth," tweeted Henderson, who's ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 79 wide receiver in the 2016 class.
"That's why I Chose the University of Tennessee. Greatest is About To Rise In Knoxville,TN. And I wanna be apart of that," he added. "I can feel it."
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Henderson, who received his first scholarship offer less than a month ago, chose Tennessee over offers from Arkansas, TCU, Tulsa and Utah. LSU also hosted him on a visit last month.
That was the case last weekend as members of several teams, including commitment Corey Henderson, were on campus in the late afternoon and evening to check everything out.
Speaking of Henderson, the Louisiana native was caught off guard at how much he liked Tennessee. In fact, he told Volquest that it was an almost automatic feeling of wanting to commit when he stepped on campus, but he waited to make it official until he had talked with his family back in Shreveport on Monday.
Don't look for the Louisiana recruitment to stop there. As we've mentioned several times in the past few months, Tennessee is making an effort to really recruit the state of Louisiana over the next few cycles. As one SEC assistant coach told us this week, 'They can't get them all,' there are are a lot of talented Bayou State players that have gone elsewhere, like Arkansas, Nebraska, Arizona as well as schools in Texas, and have excelled.
Obviously, the early work, headlined by recruiting coordinator Robert Gillespie, has paid off with the commitment of Henderson but also interest from recent visitors Chanse Sylvie and Devin White.
