'16 MI WR Donnie Corley

Looks like a no on Corley.
When I spoke with Rivals100 WR Donnie Corley this past weekend, he told me he was trying to get down for the Orange Carpet Day tomorrow. I just got off the phone with his dad, though, and dad tells me he is planning to take Donnie and his teammate Martell Pettaway down to West Virginia tomorrow. Pettaway is a WVU commit. I expect another visit to Tennessee does happen sooner or later, but doesn't sound like it is going to be tomorrow.

Interestingly, an interview with Corley from yesterday (I believe) now says that osu and tenn are his top 2 and Msu is 3rd.

Interesting because most insiders had him pegged for Msu.

Early on, yes.

He just recently pushed back his announcement date (right after visiting us last) and it was believed at that time he was leaning towards OSU.

I would love to beat Urban for this guy.

I really think he goes to tenn or msu. Based on that last interview I think it might be tenn. I haven't felt like he chooses osu since around January.

From ESPN.

(Amir) Mitchell isn’t the only ESPN 300 receiver expected, as in-state prospect Donnie Corley will also be visiting. Corley took a visit to Michigan earlier in the week and is now coming back for a second visit. Things have been heating up with Corley and Michigan and a source says that the Corleys feel that Michigan could be a great fit and are exploring the level of comfort with the coaches.

We better throw to WRs if we want any chance with this guy. Our WR's stats are ridiculous.

Michigan State has been widely viewed for months as the favorite to land Donnie Corley, one of Tennessee's longtime top wide-receiver targets in the 2016 class. But the Vols still aren't out of the picture.

Sources told 247Sports that Tennessee quietly has remained a strong contender for the Top247 wide receiver from Detroit, and he's scheduled to take an official visit to Knoxville next weekend to attend the Vols' home game against Georgia.

Corley went to Michigan State the weekend of Sept. 12 on his first official visit, and some close to his recruitment believed that Corley might commit to the Spartans while he was there. But he wasn't ready to make a decision at the time, and one source said his interest in Tennessee was one of the reasons for his hesitance. He has been high on the Vols for months, particularly since his most recent trip to Tennessee in June for its first "Orange Carpet Day" of the summer. And he's particularly comfortable with Tennessee because he has family in the Volunteer State.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball still points to Michigan State as the heavy favorite to land Corley. But multiple sources have indicated that Tennessee remains more of a factor in his recruitment than most believe, and it's hardly a foregone conclusion that he will end up choosing the Spartans.

His visit to Tennessee next weekend will be a pivotal opportunity - and perhaps the last - for the Vols to make another big impression on him.

Helmholdt said he couldn't get in touch with him by phone call until tomorrow, but Corley described Neyland as electric in text messages.

I hope that with his visit, seeing that we can in fact throw the ball around some, and Michigan State's current struggles, he closes down his recruitment and picks the good guys soon.
