'16 NC CB Marquill Osborne (UT commit 9/6/14)

He is the most talented CB prospect we've had in the fold since Jonathan Wade.

Osborne is a much better tackler though.

He will play immediately and often.

I think he is ranked a little low by Rivals. He's a top 50 guy.

You forgetting Cam Sutton? Unless maybe your talking as a HS prospect coming in which then I would say your forgetting Justin Martin.

I think Osborne is more talented than both of them at the CB position.

Cam Sutton is a better CB than Wade was in college, but from a pure athletic standpoint Wade was as talented as anyone we ever signed.

Jonathan Wade?
Yeah Jonathan Wade.
Osborne reminds of him a lot from a physical talent stand point.

Wade ran 4.36 and jumped 40.5 inches at the NFL combine. So they were legit numbers.

In high school i remember reading about him running a 10.34 in the 100 meter... and it was against the wind with percipitation. Ridiculous

Osborne has that type of athleticism. But i think he's a better football player to boot.

Osborne is not a true speedster in the mold of Wade, but I agree that Osborne is a better football player.

His 100M PR in high school so far is an 11.44, which he's run three times this season.

At the Charlotte Nike Combine in February '14 Osborne ran a 4.58 40, a 4.19 shuttle, and he recorded a vertical jump of 30.8"...his final SPARQ rating was an 85.68. Those aren't bad numbers for a sophomore, especially the shuttle time.

But what makes Osborne an elite CB prospect is his combination of terrific instincts, cover skills & excellent quickness, which more than compensate for his less-than-elite speed.

That's really hard to believe those are his best times. On Hudl it shows he runs 4.3. And it looks like it in his highlights the way he easily defeats and angle when he has the ball in his hands.

He has all that other stuff you mentioned too. But he looks elite fast on film. He looks like a dangerous return man as well.

What about about projected and actually played CB? Maybe Brent Vinson? But he may have been listed by Rivals as an ATH.

Vinson was an ATH projected to play WR but switched
Janzen Jackson was a 5 star projected to play CB
Eric Berry same
Demetrius Morely as well.

all 5 stars that ended up playing safety save Vinson.

Wade was close to 5 star ranking.

Kid is a great CB. Reminds me of Sutton more than Wade. Wade was a sick athlete at the position. His speed is unmatched in recent memory for the position at Tennessee. This kid style is much more like Sutton though. Hard hitting ball hawk at CB. And if you know me you know he has my stamp of approval. He really gets into WRs which is what I love the most. :)

He has good size, but his tenacity and athleticism set him apart.

Yeah, he's not afraid to mix it up! Gotta love that.

Couple him with a DL that has Darrell Taylor, Mckeinze, Tuttle, Kyle Phillips... We will be frightening for the next 5 years at least on defense.

He's a HS version of Sutton......

Did a Rivals video interview with Fortenberry. Won DB MVP at the Charlotte camp. Was there recruiting Nigel Warrior and Mecole Hardman. Plans to be an EE. Was repping an orange UT bracelet.
