“I talked to coach Urban Meyer, the head coach, and it was definitely exciting talking to him. He has done a lot of big things and I am excited about the offer, it is not an offer that many kids get. They are a big school and they said the need DB’s and he said I am a great player. I didn’t see this one coming at all,” he told 247Sports National Analyst Ryan Bartow.

“I am thinking about taking an official there during their season. Probably against Penn State but I haven’t set up any of my official visits yet.”

...

“It is going to be tough to beat Tennessee,” Osborne said, “they have a lot going for me. They put me in the best position that you can put yourself in. The future is definitely going to be an amazing future. Butch Jones is putting himself in the best position that you can put yourself in with this recruiting class. They are getting a lot of big time players in and I am excited for the season.”

“I am pretty solid,” he added.

That article doesn't scream "pretty solid". He didn't even say "we" when talking about Tennessee. Hopefully we can hang on to this guy. Is he an EE?

“he gave my dad coach meyer’s number,” osborne said. “then i called coach meyer. He told me he liked my film and said they need defensive backs and offered me a scholarship. I didn’t expect that at all. It was exciting talking to urban meyer.”

osborne has been committed to tennessee for a year, but he is planning to take official visits and the ohio state offer has his attention.

“ohio state gives me another opportunity,” osborne said. “i’ll definitely look into them. We are looking at games and dates. I’ll probably make an official visit there. I’ll take some other official visits too. Not all of them, but a few.”

"I really didn't have any doubt. I knew we were going to win the whole time, to be honest with you," Osborne said. "It was the first time we were really down all season and I just felt like this was different. I just saw something different and knew they were going to go out and win that game."

"I loved the environment. You can't get any better atmosphere than Tennessee," Osborne said. "Then, the comeback was so real and so live. You can't get any better than that."

"I think it was huge," Osborne said. "I think it helped with recruits, too. I think they definitely showed what we have coming to the future and that we're progressing. If we keep losing we wouldn't show progression but we're winning now so it's a big deal."

And while Osborne remains committed to the Vols that hasn't stopped other teams from coming after him hard recently. Ohio State has offered and will receive an official visit he told Volquest.com and Clemson and Virginia Tech have been hoping to get a visit as well.

"It's just been teams trying to get me to their school for a visit and trying to stay in my ear. It hadn't been too bad, really. I don't feed into that," Osborne said. "Ohio State will get a visit and then we will see what else." Osborne said that there's no doubt that Tennessee will receive his last official visit. He still plans to be an early enrollee.

I'm not really worried, but it can't be overstated how badly we need to keep this kid in the fold. He'll see snaps day one.

Osborne speaking about the UT-UGA game...

He said 'we' when referring to UT, so that should make you feel better. :good!:

Not worried at all. Now IF he were to take an OV and start reallying talking up said school, then I might get nervous. But honestly, I think he is all Vol and I cannot wait to see him in our DB field.

Agreed. I see Gaulden starting at Nickel, Martin at one corner, and Osborne and Abernathy battling for the other spot. I don't really trust Moseley or Foreman right now.

Moseley and Foreman are like the second coming of Justin Coleman. They may make plays here and there, but when it counts they always get beat

Can't wait to see Osborne in action. I have a feeling he'll be taking PT from an older player or two as a freshman.

I still have some hope for Moseley to be a solid CB. He's got the necessary speed, just needs to continue to work on his technique. And stop bloody falling down.

Neither player should be on the field.. its quite embarrassing. Not trying to put these kids on blast, but they are the source of my frustration on almost EVERY pass attempt. If I were an opposing OC I would attack them every play... if we don't have any better option than them being on the field we need to take a LOT of DB's this cycle. Literally as soon as I see a pass deep I know to look for 12 or 13 and low and behold there they are, 5 yards behind the WR.

Ok so maybe I am putting them on blast lol.
