Crazy that much of a penalty
Perhaps the most ignorant NCAA rule I have ever heard of
In theory it makes sense because a staff can have unlimited contact with a commit once they sign though. If there was no penalty, you could have every kid sign one of these and start actually coaching them before they get on campus.
It's just a rule made to keep teams like Bama and LSU from taking advantage of a loophole to get more time with them than is actually allowed when recruiting a player.
You can only sign the ones you plan to keep and that are EEs
Why have the ability to open up the contact rules if the kid controls if there is a violation?
If the schools have the ability to open up the contact then going back and giving a violation is completely bs. Just don't change the contact rules if a kid signs imo
Seems soooo ignorant. For that matter let's plant a mole to sign with Bama and then get then get them in trouble.
Once again, Bruin convincing everyone of something that isn't true.

Actually - according to the article and what we know (we think he signed financial aid papers), Bruin is right:
A violation of the (financial aid agreement) restriction legislation occurs if a prospective student-athlete signs such an agreement and does not enroll in the institution at mid-year, Hosick said. If the prospective student-athlete signs only a written offer of admission and NOT a financial aid agreement, no violation occurs.
Be that as it may - BOOOM!!!!
