'16 NC CB Marquill Osborne (UT commit 9/6/14)

Having him and Henderson both here in the spring is great for the secondary and becomes even bigger if Sutton goes pro. Great news.

Yeah I read that. I'd still think we would get a secondary violation for talking about a recruit who ultimately didn't enroll. Much better than what LSU got though.

Mcelwain didn't, so I can't imagine we would

Scout has this kid as the 39th ranked CB in the country...LULZ....they must be just throwing darts at a board when doing rankings over there.

Read that .

Crazy that much of a penalty

Perhaps the most ignorant NCAA rule I have ever heard of

In theory it makes sense because a staff can have unlimited contact with a commit once they sign though. If there was no penalty, you could have every kid sign one of these and start actually coaching them before they get on campus.

It's just a rule made to keep teams like Bama and LSU from taking advantage of a loophole to get more time with them than is actually allowed when recruiting a player.

You can only sign the ones you plan to keep and that are EEs

Why have the ability to open up the contact rules if the kid controls if there is a violation?

If the schools have the ability to open up the contact then going back and giving a violation is completely bs. Just don't change the contact rules if a kid signs imo

Seems soooo ignorant. For that matter let's plant a mole to sign with Bama and then get then get them in trouble.

Or just Western Union their players some money and then rat them out when they sign for it.

Just stepped in for a minute and saw the good news in the tweets thread. This is fantastic on so many levels. It was starting to look shaky with rumors of CWM leaving but now it is all looking up for the secondary. Two new CBs with a full spring to learn the D and get stronger and faster. BEWM!!!

Once again, Bruin convincing everyone of something that isn't true.

Actually - according to the article and what we know (we think he signed financial aid papers), Bruin is right:

“A violation of the (financial aid agreement) restriction legislation occurs if a prospective student-athlete signs such an agreement and does not enroll in the institution at mid-year,” Hosick said. “If the prospective student-athlete signs only a written offer of admission and NOT a financial aid agreement, no violation occurs.”

Be that as it may - BOOOM!!!!

That part you quoted is just more evidence of how completely ignorant the NCAA is. A written offer of admission doesn't do the same thing for the kid as financial aid papers do. Florida in essence has lied to kids in that that those papers don't even show $ is awarded. NCAA keeps showing how ignorant all this is and florida is showing how it is on both ends now.

The signed written offer of admission is used by kids that are going to walk on. Such comedy the NCAA allowing that to work here

Butch (or any other coach) would have to be a moron to put himself in the LSU position when Florida has obviously and publicly found a way to accomplish the same thing without the Financial Aid papers and without any risk of a future violation.

I'm gonna keep repeating myself just so there is a good track record of my prediction.... This guy will be starting for us next year.
