'16 NC CB Marquill Osborne (UT commit 9/6/14)

Got a handful of tackles, at least one PBU, played solid coverage all game. His footwork is really good, very few wasted steps.

Marquill Osborne credited with five tackles so far. Also has a pass breakup. He's given up two receptions as well, both in the first quarter

“It felt good to know where I’m at,” Osborne said. “I’m definitely up there with this level of competition and I’m definitely glad to be in the Under Armour Game.

“I learned that I’m a lot better than I think I am and I’m not using all my capabilities on the field and I can still get better.”

One area that Osborne quickly learned he can improve is being ready in tight coverage at the get-go. Team Highlight complete two balls in front of him with Osborne backing off in coverage.

After tightening up his pre-snap coverage he was able to limit opportunities to his side of the field.

“I have some things to learn like I don’t have to be too far off the ball,” Osborne said. “Not everything is going to be a go route and I can just settle in.”

With the Under Armour Game behind him, now he has his sights set on being in Knoxville in just over a week.

“It’s settled in. I’m ready to go. It’s the next step and I’m ready to go,” Osborne said.

He got a preview of his future on Friday as the Vols rolled to a 45-6 blowout win over Northwestern and even though he didn’t get to see the whole game he said he was excited by what he saw even just the final minutes.

“Tennessee is a great place to be right now,” Osborne said. “That was good to see them kick Northwestern’s butt. I saw Evan Berry’s pick-six,” Osborne said. “I’m pumped. I wished it was me. I turned on the TV and saw all those fans and was ready for it to be me.”
