You can run a couple of different nickel packages with our personnel. You can bring a 3rd safety in or a 3rd or even a 3rd linebacker with Quarte Sapp, depending on the matchup.

Are you slapping Osborne ahead of Abernathy? I want to know what makes you think he'll overtake Abernathy like nothing. He's the dark horse to start opposite Sutton to me. I like his game a lot. And he'll improve immensely with Shoop.

No, I'm not. Someone prior to my own post mentioned that Osborne was told he would have an opportunity to earn the starting nickel spot.

That's why I included him.

He won't overtake Foreman first year. IMO

We're loaded if Sutton is back. Sutton, Martin, Foreman, Gaulden, and Abernathy will be hell at CB. Osborne will be brought along like a freshman. IMO I watched him hard in the AA game. He's smooth but I think a year of reserve time similar to Abernathy will really help him. And we have experienced talent at the spot so I don't see a need to press him.

Abernathy has gotten a pretty significant number of reps this year. If I'm a true freshman I'm happy with that sort of opportunity.

That's why I think it'll be perfect for grooming him. We'll lose 2-3 CBs after next year(if Martin learns how to catch he's going high).

Abernathy has mediocre hips. Not very smooth in his transitions. I like the kid. He's fast, strong, and bright. But I don't think his potential is very high at corner. Would love to be proven wrong but I can see Osborne passing him up on the depth chart next year.

Some evaluators saw Abernathy as a safety potentially because he didn't have great hips. I could see that happening.

If he can stay healthy at this level. s is his best position depending on how he does if he were to add a bit more weight. Kid may look small but he will hit you to hurt you and is a playmaker. He has all the tools of a Star at Saftey size is only question mark. He can hit, stop run and cover field like a CF. He was amazing to watch at Independence his Sr yr especially that Beech game. One of the most impressive performances I have seen.

I think CB is his best position personally. I saw him as a top notch CB prospect when he was coming out. He's built like a CB. IMO

The only guy I can remember really starting within first week of practice was Berry and that was at nickel.

That's the GOAT of DBs at Tennessee too. Best safety ever to play in the SEC as well.
