He needs to get a good understanding of how long Beamer is going to be coaching. I give Frank 2 years tops as remaining HC in Blacksburg. Heck, he could retire after this season.

it seems like Bud Foster is next in line though so not a lot would change when Beamer steps down

I see <5% chance Foster gets the job. Not HC material and I think he bolts after his long time friend retires, as well as the new AD wanting to make his mark with the hire. Frank's son is too young and inexperienced. Rich Rod has ties with the current AD so who knows.

Agree on Foster. He's a bit too old to jump into that role as well, getting into his mid 50s now.

I honestly think Shane Beamer gets the gig after Beamer throws in the towel. IF he doesn't, then he'll get a small time gig then try and come back to his alma mater if he has success.

There are only a handful of teams that I would wish Dooley on. Most schools don't deserve the level of incompetence that he brings to the table. Schools I would wish Dooley on:

I believe unless they go for a "splash" hire, Shane Beamer is next in line. The players seemed to rally around him during their bowl game when he was at the helm on the field. Jmo

True. I can't stand when schools that were good are hyped because they used to be good. They aren't good now. UT doesn't get that treatment so why does every other school?

The common theme for me with all of these teams is that I perceive them as having arrogant fan bases and are glamorized by the media. That's JMO. Maybe UT fans have seemed that way in the past too but I think we've been humbled over the last decade.

Rodriguez went for the top of the hill in taking the job at Michigan and leaving his perfect job at alma mater WVA. Whatever he's got going at Arizona is about as perfect a second chance he could ever muster. I don't see him making a bad choice again...even if the Va Tech AD is a blood brother.

Apparently, South Carolina has become a major player with Landon. He said he now has a top three of Virginia Tech, Tennessee and South Carolina, with all being equal. He said he will decide sometime around the beginning of his football team's season. He will maybe go on one or two officials after committing, but he's not sure about that. Also he is about to visit Auburn and Florida State, following his recent trip to South Carolina.
