'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

He seems to have a great pocket awareness. The opposing team almost has him and then alakazam he makes magic happen and slips their reach and completes a huge pass or rushes for a 1st down. I definitely hope we land this kid
Yep. He definitely has a golden arm. Has plenty of touch when needed, and can put some mustard on the ball when he wants to.

I for sure noticed that. Kids arm is live. I know its a highlight film but he seems to lead his receivers pretty dang well. I like a qb who can throw their receivers open and this kid seems to do that. Let's get this kid Butch!

Hard to believe his film is as a sophomore in High School. Awareness in the pocket is impressive

Our coaching staff is awesome!
Dare I say best in the country? :salute:
The on the field wins will soon catch up to the recruiting wins... :hi:
I hope that they stay at Tennessee together for a long time!

It will be interesting to see how he does in the first game of the year it's against Mallard Creek. The private football division in NC is not that good compared to the public schools.

Wait I forgot he went back to Cuthbertson High School this year. Its a 3a school with some pretty good teams in the conference.

It sounds like he's high on the board but not necessarily the top QB target for '16. Also, Brent's comments (might have been Paul's) made after his visit made it sound like Kendall is opening things back up somewhat and is going to look at a lot of other teams now instead of focusing on a few.

Ryan Johnson is going to be the lead recruiter for the '16 class, hes already working Austin on twitter.

Would love to see Austin pull the trigger for the Vols. A top caliber QB recruiting his future teammates for 2016 would be a great asset. Of course as you said the instate guys are already leading the charge.

I think I like Costello and Malik Henry better. Though id be fine with Kendall early.

I want to get one of them to commit early. None of this QB shenanigans in '16.

I agree. I think gentry committing somewhere else caused everyone to panic and think we were settling which has been why the qb situation has been such a hot topic of discussion.

I want us to get our guy and get him early so everyone can get behind him.

Yep. QB is the focus of the class. Get it locked down early and build the rest of the class around him.

Agreed. Those two are really nice prospects as well. The good thing about that class is there are a lot of top QB's who are high on Tennessee early on. I'd be very happy with Kendall but if he's opening things back up after seemingly focusing on a few up to this point, it wouldn't surprise me if another one jumps on board before him. He sounds like one of a handful of QB's they really like, not just the only one, which is a good thing. If he waits too long and loses the spot to another QB then so be it. It's better than putting all your eggs in one basket.
