'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

Auburn is the team to watch here. People are riding the "his brother is at UK" thing, but the reality is that Auburn is the offer he wanted (and received). Auburn's coaches have been recruiting him longer than anyone, had he received an offer months ago he never would have committed to Tennessee.

A lot of assumption here

Auburn is the team to watch for the 5 guys who jumped Dak Prescott in Panama City.

Not really. He always had high interest in Auburn, out of all the big schools recruiting him AU's coaches have had the longest relationship with him. The Auburn offer never came so he jumped on the Tennessee offer, knowing how early QB spots fill up. Now Auburn has jumped back in. It hasn't been determined yet which way AU will go with regards to QB recruiting in this class, but if they push for Kendall I'd be very surprised if he decided to follow his walk-on brother to Kentucky of all places. Elite QB's don't go to bottom-tier SEC schools so that they can play with their walk-on relatives.

"He would've never committed to Tennessee if he had an Auburn offer"

That's all assumption. There's room for good rival posters here but take the high horse act to your auburn board.

Interesting. Thanks for passing that along. I assumed Kentucky was a done deal.

Not really the place to talk UK, but I'll bite.

I've already said all over VN, our schedule was indeed frontloaded. But I actually didn't mind it, because it let us get a little momentum and win a few easy ones before we got into SEC play. You saw us play very well against UF and USCjr (of course they weren't great). You saw us compete very well against UL, decently against Mizzou and MSU. I think how we lost to UT, LSU, and UGA really affected us. Got blown out, lost a lot of confidence and couldn't really stand up once we got knocked down.

Yeah, the defense will definitely struggle up front. Losing a couple future NFL players, but I hope Elam can step up and play like his 4/5* rating. DE will be a huge problem for us next year. Secondary should be the same, maybe a tiny bit better with experience. LB's were awful last year, but everyone pretty much returns so hopefully we step up.

I believe Elam was dropped to a 3* by Rivals his sr. season. What I saw of him this past season he needs to lose 50 lbs. He had no mobility and no upper body strength. Granted he can improve on those but he definitely was not an SEC-ready DT coming out of HS.

Is that what your little homer website said? Better relay that message to every other analyst not connected to Auburn that has predicted Kendall to UK.

Oh absolutely he shouldn't have been much higher than a middle 3*. He definitely was out of shape (which I'm not sure exactly where that developed). He didn't play that much competition in KY, but I'm fairly sure he finished at about 150th nationally (I usually go with 247 composite). He really wasn't much more than a gap filler, and not really that much of a factor. A year in the program could do him wonders.

The timing of the offer is interesting. But I don't think anyone is predicting AU to be a big player right now.

LMFAO. The "Crystal Ball" is all hype. He just came off a visit to Kentucky and his brother is currently there; hence the swing to start predicting him to Kentucky. 95% of those predictions mean next to nothing. He hasn't visited Auburn yet, but will do so in April. I can tell you that if Auburn decides to peg him as their top QB target that I'd be surprised if he ended up at Kentucky. That hasn't been determined yet. You think I'm being a "homer" by stating that he'd choose Auburn over KENTUCKY, LOL?

Yeah bro; can't wait to see Carl Lawson suit up for Tennessee this upcoming season. You know, the prediction made by your little homer websites hehehe. His personal trainer at the YMCA said he was coming 100%, right?

Why are you on here again? It's not to get information...you already know everything.

Lets say he commits to UK in the next week or so. Then AU turns up the heat and targets him, what happens? I've been saying for a while I haven't felt like we actually influenced him much, and I kinda agree that at this point a lot of those CB picks don't mean a lot. We'll see. AU is big on Pass and Gaines, correct? Both are higher ranked (on 247 comp.) than Kendall.

Auburn has cooled on Gaines big-time. The "hot" name right now is Woody Barrett, but I'm not sure if they'd let him commit early at this point. Barrett is supposed to be visiting this weekend, do they take his commitment if he were to want to commit this weekend? The Pass situation is a mess; the kid is "mad" that Auburn was 'late' offering him and at this point I doubt he comes to Auburn even though that would be the most logical choice for him schematically. Pass comes from Carver Columbus which has had an alarming amount of top recruits dismissed from numerous schools.

Auburn's top targets were Malik Henry (FSU) and Shea Patterson (Ole Miss). They've been recruiting Kendall hard but the early offer never came for him, at which point he eventually jumped on Tennessee's offer. They are also recruiting Dwayne Haskins who is supposed to visit soon, but that seems like a longshot. The question right now is whether or not they push hard for someone like Barrett, or if they'd prefer say Kendall to Barrett.

That's exactly what you're being lol. Any fan saying a kid would choose their school over another just becaue they "think" it's true is the definition of being a homer. It is what it is...lol

Not really how it went down, but if you want to lie to make your point seem somewhat relevant go for it. Funny how you decided to respond twice to my one comment. Sounds like a Napoleon complex to me. May want to go meet with a therapist about that.

As for the other boneheaded reply, I cited an actual source as to why Kentucky seems to be the school to beat here. What did you bring to the table to support your opinion again? Your gut? Just go back to your corner and let the adults talk.
