I figured with our need at RB, with Pruitts familiarity, and with Emmons at one point having interest in TN coming out of high school, that he would sign with us.
Then we offer a JUCO back (Bell) as well as idk how many other juco players, and zero mention of Emmons at all.
Then I looked him up on 247 to see what schools he was interested in or find out what the story was, and notice they have him listed as a 3* and a composite .8333 player, 102 overall JUCO, and have four backs rated higher than him, including Bell. Looks like he only has two offers (Eastern Carolina and Louisville).
I'm wondering what's with the huge drop off, because he was very highly touted coming out of high school.

Same thing that happened with Dillon Bates, Kahlil McKenzie etc. Way overrated coming out of HS. Bates would be the 5th best LB in JUCO too. McKenzie may actually be able to keep his feet under him in JUCO and not get bowled over almost every play like he does in the SEC so maybe hed be top 3 DT in JUCO. But definitely not a top 50 recruit like most had him ranked coming out of HS. If I had to re-rank them both Bates would be a 2*LB and McKenzie a 5.6 3*. Huge busts. McKenzie at least has a chance to redeem himself. Bates will just be a special teams player his entire career.
You basing this off Lyle Jones Coaching ? Because really, thats not fair. Both of these guys would have benefitted greatly, like much of this team to have a competent coaching staff. JMO
Thats true. I guess anyone coached by Butch didnt get a fair shake to start with. However Derek Barnett didnt seem phased by it...

He was coached by Steve Stripling. One if only two coaches worth a damn Butch had while here, Gillespie being the other. As good as Barnett was and he is one of the greats, he did lose contain some, especially his last year. Now I'm sure that's cause he was chasing the sack record.
1 out of 110+ signings doesn't make a good debating point. Just makes you wonder what he could have done with competent Coaching. He's one that succeeded in spite of our former staff.
The kids not overrated. Hes a special talent. I dont know what happened at Bama. But you can best believe since hes not going back to Bama, his stock will tumble. Not a conspiracy theorist. But in recruiting rankings, it is what it is.
Dobbs did well. Kamara did well. But in no way will I defend Butch Jones as a good coach because he simply isnt. Hes a B+ recruiter and a D+ coach. But I honestly think Dillon Bates was simply a bust. McKenzie could finally do something next year. We shall see if coaching truly makes a difference on both of those guys.

Kamara would not have been on the field as much if Hurd wasn't a complete head case. The thing is Kamara and Dobbs were perfect for Jones system but it took them being forced into the lineup for those guys to start.
