'16 NJ DT Rashan Gary

I still give the edge to Darden.

However, you could put Bryce Brown here too. Hardesty was clearly the better back and with all the hype, didn't produce.

kid was good for us. true freshman backing up a NFL caliber running back. 4.6 yards per carry and added some receiving numbers as well. hard to produce when you are here only one year.

Brandon Jefferies

What was the 5 star LB/S out of Memphis that was supposed to be all world? Todd Cox or am I off on that one?

Not quite 5 star, but he was pretty highly rated for a while there, yeah. IIRC, he was ranked high early, but his stock dropped later in the process. Again, IIRC, he siged with Ole Miss, didn't qualify, went to juco, and was never heard of again.

I think his NFL career also shows he was the better back of the two.

Man, I was so excited about OJ Owens.

Lynn McGruder was another one I was really excited about who didn't work out all (though I think he ended up being a decent player at Oklahoma IIRC).

McGruder actually played well as a true freshman DT, but got busted slinging weed - allegedly.

OU couldn't sign him fast enough.

I noticed the first few clips of his 247 video were against Bergen Catholic and was filled with pressures on JG. I see why he's recruiting him to join him as a Vol.

Pretty simple. Brown was either the #1 or #2 ranked player in the country in 2009. He was mega hyped to be a total stud at RB. He never produced at UT or KState. While Hardesty broke out in 2009 and produced 1345 rushing yards and 14 TDs.

I think he produced reasonably well for a true freshman. He then left when Kiffin did. That doesn't really fit the mold of the discussion, IMO.
