I don't know how we win nasty, cheap beer with this kid taking snaps but no thanks!

Jarrett had already visited UT 3 times before Kendall decommitted. He and his dad love Jones and UT, but with Kendall committed there was no chance of him coming to UT. Butch told Jarrett he's the #1 preference at QB for 2016 (and the only one they'll sign). When Jarrett learned this, he all but told Butch he'd commit if that were the case. Tennessee and Kendall parted ways, both because UT now knew it could land Jarrett and Kendall's primary recruiter had just left (Bajakian). So, it made sense for both parties.

Now, whether you want to believe it or not, Jarrett is likely already silently committed to UT. The OSU visit is meant to solidify that decision and also pay respect to Urban and his primary recruiter at OSU. But, just as Kendall coming to UT meant Jarrett would not, he knows he will not commit to a school with 6 scholarship QBs. But just like his previous visits to UT, he does really like OSU and the coaches there.

JG is all Vol. Rutgers was only a serious option when his two favorites were set to have a combined 11 scholarship QBs next season. Tennessee can now sell him as being their only QB take for 2016, and a competition that will include no proven QB behind Dobbs.

If you believe Rutgers has a chance at this point, I've got a steal for you on a sack of magic beans.

-----------------

what you say here could very well be true...He might be a silent commit to you....you have to understand that the RU fans are not getting the same info from your vol inside sources, so they will always hope, even up to signing day next feb.

it is also believed that Jarrett was a silent commit to Ohio state during the national championship game...it seemed that when ever he visited a school he was swayed a bit.

best of luck with him down there....my only request is that you and other vol fans treat visitors such as myself with some dignity.....'

I think if you visited the Rutgers rivals site and wanted to discuss any issues with our fans you would be treated with respect......there really is no need to dump on a university that you have no beef with in the first place...and you should not fault a fan of a school who hopes a instate player stays in state....

Sorry, I wasn't trying to belittle your school. I have no problem at all with Rutgers. Good luck, but I'd have guarded optimism if I were you.

I was not meaning you, and I am sorry that it came off that way....there were a few others before your post that insulted RU when there really was no need for it...and that was what I was directing it towards

every downtrodden program, including RU, will have an uphill battle taking recruits away from the traditional powers.....what we fans hope for is a break thru class, or a few break thru recruits to send us off in the right direction....we did land Savon Huggins (bust) and Darius Hamilton in the past, both very highly touted with major offers.....so fans can always hope for a repeat

It must be nice to have such a high powered recruiting coach.....I wish we did....sometimes you can put such a coach in a spot like RU and he can do wonders.

When you come on here accusing Tennessee of a violation to get a recruit by giving his dad a job, you don't deserve to be treated with "dignity"

That statement, jest or not, is either an insult or accusation. None of which will get you far here.

True.

If it is a violation, it is One that is committed quite frequently....quite often in basketball, from what I have seen

But the insults against RU began well before my post.

And I understand our program gets little respect,we don't deserve much right now, being honest

I am sorry if that remark offended anyone and come in peace

Also, the rivals board for RU is very active even during the off season, much like this one is

Anyway, I hope you don't mind an occasional post as this draws to an end

I really hope your program does well down the road....RU has no reason to hope otherwise

Ahh yes, looks like Butch is lining up a recruit to make VolNation forget about the misery of Tax Day. Good plan, Coach.

In 9 days, this will all become much clearer. We can debate it all day, but I don't see him changing his mind after he commits. So.... Ad Victorem Spolias.

So, butch got his dad a job down there?

I know that you aren't used to big time recruiting but you aren't supposed to be butthurt until AFTER he spurns your school.

NJ seems to be THE hotbed in the NE with Pa being right behind. I know NYC is basketball centric but RU could do some damage there.
