He didn't have much to say about Tennessee in that article, other than Butch is like a second dad. He had a lot to say about Ohio State and Rutgers, however. Maybe it was sympathy for them? (Wishful thinking) but I didn't get the feeling UT is his destination

Not true. Mueller reported that Wharton and Sawyers were leaving long before any of that leaked and also reported that Lanier was coming to UT with Barnes nearly a week before the story broke.
