Do you know where aaronvol typed his message? Yeah, on a WBB board in a WBB thread. "But folks don't care about women's b-ball anymore", says aaronvol. This folks, is what you call a lurker with an inferiority complex. I think they are related to peeping toms but I'm no expert.

The notorious and elusive peerker.

Y'all need to get off the Lawson bandwagon.
Idk why, but something in me tells me that the people who don’t want to take a look at Lawson or root for her to lose or have a problem with people who want her to succeed, are the same “Key worries about her lashes and hair” crowd…..idk. 🥴

One of the worst teams in the sec? You may not look at numbers, but coach Harper actually has the second highest winning percentage in the SEC over the last 5 years. Lawson had a team filled with 5 star players a year ago and was done in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Her SEC win percentage is all for naught if she can’t get over the Sweet 16 speed bump.

For me, I've had a hard time accepting the fact that the two best possible coaches for the lady Vols to hire and keep on staff live in the same house. This season doesn't appear it is going to get any better any time soon. How much lower are we willing to go before we have some serious conversations about the state of the program? I love the Lady Vols but I have lost interest in their play.
Welcome 🤗 delurk upvote! Thats got to be a record…

Until the intensity improves on this team, and our defense and offense improves this team will continue to play under its potential. Spears has disappeared as a scorer and we get much more out of Striplin than we do from our vaulted 5 Star Holingshead. Powell is working her butt off while Hollingshed does almost nothing. The coaching is extremely weak. They are not getting the best out of this team. We have 6 winnable games coming up you would think the coaching staff could use these games to fix what ails this team. It is as if they have no game plan. It is so difficult to watch a once proud program go South following the LaTech and Texas Techs of the world. Pat Summitt’s legacy deserves better than it is receiving.

The intensity won’t improve, that has to be something inside u. Some players want it and some just play the game and go through the motions.

Wow. Unreal response. It's OK to admit that you're in a very small minority of people. No shame in that. And I'm the one with an inferiority complex.

Well KJH’s compensation package is 1.1 million dollars a year, which is certainly not bad pay for a coach who has a difficult time beating ranked teams. One would certainly think that she would encourage intensity from her players. Most of the time she looks confused when her team goes South. They can’t do the small things like block out or set picks. It seems that their inspiration for the game gets lost.

Added bonus of Jon’s salary to cover other expenses as well as seeing your souse for work life balance.

I do agree, she doesn’t control her game speed of the game confusion very well. Last night was a new one by getting heated with the ref going to a TV break down with no chance. Too little too late and after the fact.

3 games in a row with an 11+ point run that took away our momentum
no time out called
that is NOT the player's fault

I know the families of several of these players and I know for a fact "They Hate To Lose!"

this is a team that has proven over the years that they cannot bounce back from sustained runs.
It is up to the coach to see this and change her game plan and in-game tactics.
I don’t know what game plan KJH has but she is not very good at making in game changes. She also has issues with using her timeouts when the team is headed South.

We need someone to teach basics like free throws, in bounds, passing, sharing rebounds . things we would have thought they would have had years ago

for the record, the world's population is just under 8 billion people. So, it is fair to say that the majority of people also don't care men's college basketball either. So, what?

All this "intensity" and "want it" talk is just silly stuff frustrated fans say. We have zero idea who's "intense" etc by watching them on court. Most don't put on public displays; in fact, the most intense, dialed in players are often silent.

Our failures are not bc players or coaches don't "want it", which is one of the silliest notions I can imagine, but bc of lack of ability and/ or failure to reach potential by both players or coaches. That's way different.

When I said intensity, I meant in the sense of bringing the kind of defensive pressure that OSU brought. OSU is not a team loaded with speed demons either but they have definite defensive scheme that everyone bought into.

A line-up of Key (protecting the paint), Rickea, Jewel, Powell, and lets say Hollingshead could be a pretty wicked defensive group. On paper Jewel should provide a stretch the floor 3 point threat but you could substitute Sara or Tess for Hollingshead if needed.

I am not sure I would ever put Tess and Sara on together for an extended stretch. You are giving up too much defensively.

My problem w Kara is that she has proven to not be a very good offensive coach, like other prominent members of the PHS coaching tree. It just seems foreign to their basketball DNA.
Old Dominion, Stephen F. Austin, Delta State, Immaculata, Southern Cal . . . . . Tennessee
Oops, if you're keeping up, you didn't mean to add Southern Cal.

Yeah that's not the "intensity" talk I was referring to. It's the old "want it" crap. We've been down that road on this board so many times.
Agree, don't need Sara and Tess together. Love Tess, but to my mind, Sara is a much better player.

Got 8 likes from some pretty solid vol fans.
Maybe we need to go outside the former
Lady vol players for a coach. I Never said
I didn't want Lawson to succeed but don't
Understand the big fascination with her.
I never was in the Key hair crowd rant either.

Gonna disagree here. I love Kara and she was top of my list when we hired Kellie. An honest assessment of her to date coaching results are not encouraging. She has not had any sort of success to speak of.
I honestly think a lot of folks who bring her up are fly bys who just want to bitch about Kellie and she, “that Duke coach”, is the only alternative they can think of.
I hope Kara does figure it out and has tons of success as a coach. She was a Torchbearer, a trustee and an amazing representative of UT but questions about her coaching prowess are reasonable.

The "that coach from Duke" is some of the most inexplicable phrasing I have seen on this board. It raises the question of why some people simply won't say her name? Is she Valdemort?

It is pretty rare for someone to go straight from playing and commentating (and Kara was the best) to being an elite coach. She really needed a stop as an assistant for a few years. I also wanted her to get the job, thinking if anyone could beat the odds it would be Kara..
