I hope, but I don't know if Smith is the answer, Paulus could be great coming off of the bench as a shooter next season in limited minutes, but I'm not quite sold on Smith yet

Paulus would be great if he never had to guard anyone and could just stand behind the arc and shoot.

this is my last comment for duke, because this thread should be reserved for Dixon, but I've said it before and I'll say it again. Paulus is a horrible defender, worse passer, and even worse penetrator. I know Duke had little trouble yesterday against an undermanned UVa team, but there were a handful of fast breaks lost just because Paulus couldn't get the ball down the court in time.

That's why I agreed with VFB about him coming off of the bench, but right now that's not an option, and he's decent enough to where Nelson, Singler, King, Henderson and Scheyer can put points up

I agree, this thread's about Dixon, but who do you want to play PG for Duke as of right now?

Considering I wouldn't shed a tear if Duke lost every game it ever played for the rest of time, Paulus. If I were a Duke fan though, I would like to see Nolan Smith get more minutes to help with his development, and Paulus play a bench role and primarily be used as a shooter.

then again, I haven't won any NCs at the college level either. I am sure Coach K knows what he is doing, but I still think Paulus is one of the more overrated players in the country.

so what you're saying is you've only won NCs at the high school level?:p

good game last night. i can't figure out Pitt. i saw them against DAyton and they looked like dogs. couldn't defend, couldn't shoot, couldn't do anything.

i turned on this game fully expecting G'town to roll with Hibbert inside.

but Pitt was on from the perimeter and the off rebounding was phenominal. Ramone played great at the point, and Benjamin was unconscious.

this may be the game Pitt needed to start a run. can they do it over time though? i have my doubts, esp when they are on the road.

and a team ahead of us lost, good night.

They are off to a 15-2 start without key players. Dixon has to be doing something right.

There is enough talent on that team to win some games and make the NCAAs, especially when Fields is back, but they don't have the depth to even think about making a serious run in March.
