'16 TN ATH Darel Middleton (Tennessee signee)

Arrested on aggravated robbery, felony theft, aggravated burglary and two counts of possession of a handgun. Per knoxsheriff.org

And your decisions as an 18 yr old were award winning? I was an idiot when I was 18 and imagine most on here were too.

Big difference in making bad decisions when you're a kid and aggravated robbery and felony theft. Those two aren't the same. Those aren't bad decisions. It's an indictment of character and who you are as a person. I made a million bad decisions but never robbed anyone with a gun.

Doubt most on here were committing felonies at 18....I know I wasn't. There are knuckleheads and idiots, and then there are guys like Middleton.....completely different cats.

Never crossed my mind to do any of the ish he just did. He was given a golden opportunity to come play at a great institution and pissed it away. If he had been the victim of some tragedy not of his own making then yes, I'd feel bad for the kid. But that's evidently not what happened....he brought it on himself. Good riddance.

Let's see, REPORTEDLY (TIFWIW)

attitude problems
Unsubmissive to coaches
Insists on playing position he is too big for
Puts in effort only when he wants to
Kicked off of teams to the point of transfer
De-committed from two schools already.

... Yep, seems like a can't miss to me :dunno:

When I first seen this it let me know he wouldn't last long

I remember hearing about him as a HS Sophomore and most were excited he was wanted to commit, but then things went south. There were some on here that said he was running with a bad crowd, arguing with his coach, and possibly more, I don't remember all of them.

The point is, he is only 18, yes, making bad decisions, but I feel bad for the kid because he is only 18. My response was to the cold blooded response about decision making. He's a kid, even though legally an adult, he's still a kid.

Not much you can do with your life once you are charged with those felonies.. He's looking at some decent time in jail

C'mon - some of you need to quit defending his actions like you are a defense attorney. Time after time quality people counseled him and tried to help him. It didn't work. Now he pays the price for his actions. That being said, we need to pray for him that he turns it all around. If not he is probably headed for worse and I don't want to see him hurt innocent people if he chooses to self destruct.

So many wake up calls in this thread. At least his coaches let him know that his behavior was unacceptable, for whatever those reasons were at each place.

Some people are hellbent on destruction, thinking they are invincible

When I was 18 I had a full time job and then joined the Air Force at 19. I came from a broken home but I knew right from wrong. Some people just look for trouble and it will always find you.

I know some folks at Mississippi Gulf Coast and I guarantee they will not take him now.
