Did a Rivals video interview with Fortenberry. Joejaun said UT's coaches are talking to him right now about playing CB in Knox. He prefers CB too. He talks with Kyle Phillips and Vincent Perry quite a bit. He called them his "good friends". Said both of them are always talking UT up to him.

Another team he likes is FSU. He works out with Jalen Ramsey's dad. He views Ramsey as a role model. He visited for FSU's game against Boston College and said he loved it. Plans to visit UT this weekend for their Jr Day. Plans to be an EE and will announce at one of the All American games. Will come out with a top 6 or 7 here soon.

IMO, it's a toss up between UT and FSU. I think LSU is in there too. But with him being an instate kid, I think you have to give a slight edge to the Vols.

Guys the JoeJuan commitment will likely at this point be a FSU UT Auburn decision with him currently being in love with Auburn and getting Muschamp only helps them. With UT it has to do with all the NPA guys who have recently went to UT along with the relentless work of CBJ and his staff in Nashville. With FSU the thing will be that Jalen will leave for the draft and the only relationships being that of the coaches recruiting him. Just my insight based on things and factors I know matter to the kid.
On the Ramsey thing he works out with NPA and Ramsey's dad and SACS has partnered with us, but he's a NPA kid which plaued for us when Buck's dad was coaching middle school @ Smithson-Craighead Academy here in Nashville

That's exactly the DB class I've been daydreaming about. Would be elite. If I were to make a realistic prediction right now though, I would say we only get 2, maybe 3 of them. Even that would mean adding some very nice talent though.

IDK, last I heard was the kid was smitten with FSU. Maybe I'm behind the times though. I think a lot will change between now and NSD though, it always does.

Who are we on the outside on? WE have Johnson and lead for Vaughn. We are in good shape with Bituli and are in the top mix for Williams and are close to even on Matthews.

He is just talking out of his butt again. Last yr people were claiming we were losing hold to Ole Miss etc then by NSD Butch Jones ButchSlapped them all as he again locked down majority of top prospects in the state. The ones that got away were not heavily pursued or didn't have committable offers. Amadi is only one I recall and I don't really consider that a loss and the staff probably doesn't either since they got the main 2 out of that deal in Phillips and Martin.

It does seem like JoJuan like some others right now like Auburn. TN is in the thick of it of it though and it's not like he is deciding anytime soon.

We're doing fine. Already have Ryan Johnson, in pretty good shape for Bryce Matthews / Donte Vaughn / Emmitt Gooden and we won't let JoeJuan go without a hell of a fight. More than anything, I think it's just a slight down year in the state compared to last couple of years, and certainly compared to what '17 projects to be. Given our limited number of spots this year, it looks like only a few TN kids are automatic takes and the rest are in the wait-and-see category. Specifically (and this is just an opinion - not inside knowledge) I think Bituli would have already committed if he had the go-ahead to do so.

We're never going to get 100% of the in-state guys we want though. Butch has been ridiculously successful in TN in the last two classes, but there are always going to be kids like Alex Bars or Jalen Ramsey who just aren't interested in playing for Tennessee. I'd love to land JoeJuan, but if he's another in that category then so be it - we'll look elsewhere and we'll be alright.

Once old butch gets us rolling and we start getting wins then it will swing. Tennessee is still seen as a rebuild and some guys don't have the ties instate or care if they help it or not. Most wish to play on Sunday's and you can't fault them at all. I trust Butch 100% to get who he wants. In the end I think JoeJuan and Vaughn both are at UT along with Warrior who is a legacy and out of state.

He was Jones' first phone call this morning in which coaches were allowed to call prospects.
