'16 TN ATH JoeJuan Williams

I'm pretty sure that volinmem (?) has said he was a CB too. He seems pretty tight with the family.

He trains with us @ NPA and @ Hendersonville he is going to play safety which is his natural position but @ FR they had him playing cb which was asinine

He was referring to Donte Vaughn. I believe he plays at CB. I know one his assistant coaches, and they moved him to CB after playing on offense early in high school. He has the length to be a good CB. Heard they had him taking yoga.

So then I put another player on the field who can do it. Turn your head and locate the ball in the air. Sounds like something coaches would coach to me. It does seem as though it would be important to playing the CB position.

You don't have a clue about numbers and how many we can or ever will sign. You are not a numbers guru and this junk just shows you know just as little about coaching. Doc is right about trying to coach kids how do do something different that is ingrained in them. You can practice it with them and work with them but in the heat of the moment it is hard to change things such as muscle memory when shooting a basketball game or how you position yourself when playing a deep ball. If it was as easy as you make it sound, then every player would be a robot and all you would have to do is show them technique one time and they get it or every player could be coached into an All American. You got to have the talent and you also have to have be able to be coached. Some kids just can't get it regardless of who the coach is. Does not mean they are bad kids but for some it will just not happen.

I was talking about Donte Vaughn, whom LV slotted to play S. Everything I have heard has him at CB, albeit a big one.

Scouting report: Williams is a long, physical defensive back who looks like he could play either safety or cornerback at the next level. There are few players his size that can turn and run like he does, making him a rare prospect.

Latest: Williams recently visited Vanderbilt and Auburn and is high on Tennessee and Ohio State.

Leaders: Auburn, Ohio State, Tennessee.

Way-too-early prediction: Tennessee

A real good possibility we pull the top 6 players in the state according to 247 composite (Williams, Vaughn, Butili, Gooden, Johnson, Matthews) with Matthews being the only one that could go somewhere else imo

Don't think we are leading for Williams

Williams has at least 40 scholarship offers including Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Penn State and Ole Miss.

“I just got some new ones [Tuesday],” Williams said. “I’m not sure about [upcoming] visits, I just kind of take visits on the fly.”

While Williams didn’t want to name any leaders, he did say several schools stand out when it comes to who is recruiting him the hardest.

“I’d say Tennessee, Florida State, Ohio State, definitely LSU, and Auburn is recruiting me very hard,” Williams said.
