Hey guys! This is Peytons dad. The SI thing was a complete surprise and an honor to be a part of. They found him on twitter and asked if he was named after Manning. He had a check up at the Dr. yesterday and everything is going really well.He has worked very hard and is ahead of schedule. We were planning on attending a camp at UT this summer, but I don't know if he will be ready by then. He does want to visit and be around the coaches more. I know they have to see him work. He had a really good sophomore season at DE and is moving back to ILB this season. Signingday.com has him rated as the #5 ilb prospect in the country and #78 over all prospect. We will see how it shakes out. Thanks for your support. We are proud to be Vols.

He was told that he was at the top of their list for 2016. He worked out for them at a camp last year, and we have been on 3 unofficials. He loves it there. He got to meet Coach Jones in his office. September 1st this year will tell us a lot about his situation. I think Florida State is really interested too. Like I said, we will see how it all goes.

Better to get this kid in the fold sooner than later. Kid likes to recruit and would be a huge advantage getting him offered & committed early. Looks to be a very talented LB with 2 years of HS still to play.

Nothing much.I just got called a liar over on the Nike board. I have made lots of contacts with future prospects in my travels with Peyton. We have become friends with many across the country from Washington,Ohio, Florida,Mississippi etc. I have sat down and discussed many things about the process.I have heard kids talk about how NIKE is a big selling point for them. Im not upset or anything, I had forgotten about the message board mentality...lol...GBO!!

Yeah, don't let it bother you. Message boards can be a tough place, especially for recruits parents/familes. I think you will find the vast majority of Vol fans will be very pleased with the switch to Nike. IMO it will make a difference to recruit and I am 100% for anything that gives us a better chance at the best players.

Just make sure Peyton is ready to sign with UT when it's his turn to put ink to paper. Can't wait to see him busting heads in Orange.

Peyton doesn't care what he wears, but he does prefer the Nike brand. I talked to a scout.com reporter last year at length about this very subject. I know A.M. liked Ohio State and their Nike uni's. Changing shoes for a kicker is kind of a big deal. I know the message boards can be savage, there are some people who are just negative. I think this is a positive move for UT. Coach Jones is brilliant, he gets it. I loved the commits after a big losses this year. He is a masterful PR guy as well as a great coach. He made Pey feel at home instantly.

OddFuture..Pey called coach Martinez a couple of days ago to talk to him about coming to a practice and the O/W game. I don't know if he got in touch with him or not.I would imagine they are kinda busy right now..lol.. We all want to come up for it though.

Yeah they've been on the road a lot. I was just wondering, thanks for the info. Hopefully this year we can break last year's attendance!

puddin...stick around in this thread and you'll be fine. I wouldn't go the football forum anyway. All the best info comes through the recruiting forum.
