Think I'll be getting my dad tickets to the GT game. He's a tech fan but has always wanted to watch a game in Death Valley.
Death Valley (both of them) would be a bucket list visit, both are cool venues. As far as Tech, it's crazy you can walk up and buy tickets at the gate even with teams like FSU in town, Ga being the exception.
Hope it works out for where you can get some good seats, you've had a tough week on your crystal balls. Crootin' is crootin' man, always surprises.
Makes sense because I was hearing about 1.5 months ago that Bryce was all but a vol.
Things must be looking better with other OL guys
Losing an in-state guy hurts but, when it comes with the caveat of likley landing a better out-of-state prospect, I'm all for it...we just really need them to commit now.
Those of you worried about this class need to chill. It's been repeated ad nauseum on here but, Butch and co. are being more selective with commits this year due to stricter numbers. That notion only validates NRPP's comments even more...if Dickerson or any of the other OL were higher on the board and they feel confident about their recruitment, then it would make sense why they would back off Matthews recently.
Now, you could spin that to fit our orange-tinted narrative but, Butch has a proven recruiting acumen. I'm more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Jokes about dirty recruiting or not, it's crazy how fast Ole Miss has gotten good. I remember when even as a UK fan, I thought they sucked. Both them and MSU really.
It's great that they beat Alabama last year but let's not get carried away with the modest accomplishments of a sorry program. The reality is that Ole Miss was just 9-4 last year and crashed and burned at the end of the season. They also had back to back 9-4 seasons under Houston Nutt in '08 and '09 that included a signature win over the eventual champion Florida (on the road) and a blowout victory over us in '09 before coming back to earth with a more typical 2-10 record in 2011. They aren't winning many recruiting battles with us (see Barnett, Richmond, Kirkland, Phillips, Bituli) and their only class that was better than ours was 2013. I said in a previous post that there are 3 teams in the SEC with no chance of ever making to the SECCG and they are definitely one of them. They have not won an SEC title since 1963 and that is not going to change.
I'll take the better prospect period. An out of state kid can be all UT just as much as an instate kid. Many of our best players and VFLs were out of state recruits
If we have a great shot at dickerson/price. To me that's a chance you take to slow play this kid
From what I understand, Tennessee stopped recruiting Matthews because they feel good about where they sit with other offensive lineman.
