I really like this kids film. He is very polished for a high school receiver. I would not be upset if we got this kid.

Let's just see how it plays out. We don't know what triggered or inspired this offer and it's still too early to assume we aren't getting someone we thought we were.

This is a classic example of Butch Jones taking a local kid in each class to maintain instate local recruiting relationships. He has signed one or two in every recruiting class since he has been at Tennessee. Malik Foreman, Devaun Swafford, Jacques Bruce, and Vincent Perry are all examples of this.

Anyone heard of Rontavius Groves?
From Pearl Cohn - 4* WR on some services - committed to North Carolina.
Any thoughts on why we didn't pursue him more heavily?

Malone, Phillips, DB, etc. A lot more than a local kid for relationship purposes.

So you do not think he is SEC talent?

So you are telling me that this kid's film just got discovered by our coaches? With as many elite WR prospects we are in on this cycle I find it difficult to believe that there isn't a dual motive to offering this late in the process.

Also, I am no film expert but in a few areas it looks as though his film is abnormally fast, like purposefully sped up fast. Just my assessment though.

Watched Nate against SCHS in the final. Wow! He was at another level with quickness/speed. I have no issues with this offer at all.
