'16 TX OT Kellen Deisch

Huge difference, as a unit from last year. Last year was one of the all time worst for a TN OL. This year, they have been from average, to pretty good at times... With the same players

You simply don't rush for 200+ yards multiple times against ranked opponents on RB / QB talent alone

and you definitely dont put up over 250 yards rushing on Florida on RB/QB talent alone

We had 18 run plays against GA of 1 yard or less...

Yeah, there's a big problem with this statement, and it's that runs of more than a yard count too. Also throw in the fact that UGA was clearly gearing up tostop Hurd. Can't just pick and choose facts to fit your argument.

Look at the number of times our ball carrier is hit at or behind the LOS. All things considered, what Hurd and Dobbs have been able to do is remarkable.

Our kids on the O-line are giving their all four Tennessee. Unfortunately, due to Dooley's inept recruiting, their best just isn't good enough... yet.

So what is your point? He said that was a huge difference in the OL play from year to year.. I would argue that Hurd makes most of his yards on his own

I'd say yes. Those WRs had a new brand of fight in them especially Malone. Malone even straight blasted the Saftey that was supposed to guard Josh Smith on the TD. I know a lot are saying he wasn't throwing to Smith which is probably but it also looked a bit like a pick play. I mean Malone Trucked the guy knocking him down leaving an open spot for Smith. I have never seen him truck a guy. He usually avoids contact

Malone had a lot of YAC on pretty much all 5 of his receptions last Saturday and picked up at least 3 1st downs on those catches, if not more, from what I remember. Playing with aggression now. And if you watch the scrum for the UGA fumble on the KO return right before half you can see Malone hurl himself into the pile. He is finally showing that mental toughness that will allow him to play more physically aggressive.

Go further with your analysis. How many of those 18 carries were against a stacked box where the defense had more defenders than we had blockers? Run blitzes? The state of our passing game coming into UGA game and the way teams defend is makes it difficult to run the ball. We are usually at a number disadvantage in the box. That makes what we have done in run game impressive.

Agree on Malone playing aggressively but that was Abernathy on the KR team. Malone doesn't play special teams. The dual numbers can be confusing since we have so many

Ah, ok. I wondered at the time what he was doing on special teams. But good to see Abernathy's aggressiveness as well. :)

Rarely are there huge holes Brewer the tackles... All of his yard are on the edge and then making people miss.. The larger point is that outside of Roberston and maybe Thinas we are not playing with NFL prospects out there.. They are going against NFL players on the DL each week in the SEC

What's gotten into you lately? This is like the 3rd post in a week that didn't sound like it came from an alien. :alf:

the facilities were great,” diesch said on tuesday afternoon. “the game atmosphere was crazy, of course. I really liked the players and the coaching staff there too.”

vols head coach butch jones made sure to let diesch know he was a priority for the team.

“he said he really wants me there in knoxville.”

diesch admits that both tennessee and texas a&m are standing out to him at the moment and he will likely make an official visit to aggieland soon. He also says there are several reasons he is high on the aggies.

So we will be in a dogfight with TAMU for an OL? Dont like our chances at all if thats the case. How many freakin OL have they put in the NFL in the past few years?

Especially for a Texas kid. Regardless of what he says about distance not being a factor. It definitely doesn't hurt that aTm is way closer to home.

Got his 4th star....
