'17 AL LB Will Ignont (UT commit 10/26/2016)

Been WAITEING to use that song in a post, amirite? How do you misspell lying...my spellcheck won't let me? :)

Butchna, you beat me to it! I've seen some poor spelling on this site but that is the first time I've seen anyone with that version of lying..

Ok.

Appreciate you responding to so many of my post. Kind of surprising considering you really don't care what I have to say. Reminds me of that song from the 80's where the singer tells us over and over and over again "I ain't missing you, I ain't missing you, I ain't missing you". They said it so much it become very clear they were lieing.

Just shining a light on a cockroach. Besides, my comment was inferring the coaches not giving a ratsarse to impress you. It should go without saying, your contradicting opinions means nothing to me.

I wouldn't call having now 4 LB's committed to us for 2017 having a ton of LB's. We do have Blakely & Butili from last season that we will have but we do not have a ton of LB's yet. Thanks!

I'm not talking about this current class. We are discussing our current LB situation. You're welcome though!!!

Gotcha but we are not loaded up at the LB spot right now either. Why are we scrambling to find LB's to replace all these getting injured if we had plenty of them? Just asking?

dead wrong on the Auburn part

Per usual, he is dead wrong on everything. The kid was a silent commit to Bama and decommitted when they wanted him to go public. Bruin likes to create his own narratives based on little to nothing.

We have signed plenty, especially considering we use nickel majority of time.

Also this kid was at IMG Academy ND decided on his own to go back to Buckhorn to try to compete for a state title. If he was good enough for IMG then he is a big time commitment in my opinion.

IMG is not as talented as advertised

We've signed a ton of LBs. What gives?

Just a position where we have several misses for a variety of reasons. Playing the 4-2-5 as somewhat the base defense, the two LB's have to run really well. One of the two has understand the defense well enough to get everyone lined up correctly. DKjr and JRM made the position a strength of the team. Without them, the depth is woeful.

Multiple injuries, two misjudged legacy recruits, assorted other problems:

1) Bynum - Dooley recruit. Had knee issue. Trouble moving. Hard to play him in the 4-2-5 package.
2) Bates - Just in over his head at this level.
3) Elliott Berry - Trying hard but small.
4) Sapp - Has a chance in future, but injured early this year.
5) McDowell - Not sure if he is overthinking, but seems to react slow or something.
6) Bituli - Think he is going to be great! IMO, needs experience asap.
7) Bryant - Don't know his story. Hasn't played much for a third year guy.
8) Jumper - Been discussed enough. Trying his best.

Yep. Good summary.

We're probably 6-1 with a close loss to Bama with Kirkland and Maybin healthy.

Bryant has looked decent the times he's been out there. I'd like to see him get a little more urgent. He should be killing guys on special teams.

That's garbage. And I say that will all due respect because you're a solid poster. IMG might be hard to handicap because they don't play a local schedule or playoffs. But Grayson does, and we know exactly how good they are. What IMG did to them speaks volumes.

I know a few of his teachers, nobody has ever questioned his character. They are Alabama fans and claim that he would be at Alabama if they wanted him. I don't disagree with that, but the kid still has legitimate interest from Auburn and LSU.

They don't really know why he left IMG, but the consensus appears to be homesick. I asked this question back during the summer, when Tennessee was not on his radar and everybody thought he was headed to Alabama.

Heard that Ignont and Dylan Moses were big buddies and thought about trying to go to the same school to play together. Any chance Moses flips?

Jancek did a lot with the LBs when he was here. They were his pet position like safeties are with Shoop.

Outside of Jumper, I've thought most of our LBs have regressed this year. Even JRM and Kirkland didn't look that great the little we've seen them.

I forget his name, but Shoop lost the LB coach and co-DC he'd been working with the past 3-4 years when he came here.

I think some fresh blood at the LB coaching position would be a good change. Thig was great for us when he first got here mostly because of his work on the recruiting trail, but that has tapered off greatly since 2014 and other LB coaches around the country have done more with less.

Kirkland was causing problems for Va.Tech. I won't lie about that. Lol

Sapp and McDowell played.

But i do recall McDowell playing more reps.

No Bituli will play a good amount.
At MLB and on the edge some.

They targeted this part of the year to play him more. Same thing with Kirkland last year. And we need Bituli because Kirkland won't be 100 percent until Atlanta against Bama/ LSU. We need him to be ready.

Bituli is good enough to start. He just needs reps. Butch compared him to Jarrad Davis of Florida. Davis is probably the best MLB in the SEC. Foster at Bama too.

Foster is the No.1 this year for sure.

I want to see this Jarrad Davis stuff myself before I make any claims.

Pretty bad outside of JRM and DK. Hopefully Bituli is as advertised
