A terrible day for UT football. We just loaded up the class with a bunch of 3 star players. I am really disappointed with Butch and the staff. Don't know what they are thinking.

We need 10 wins this season and Butch will need to recruit over some of these guys.

I think top 15 is possible. Those screaming top 5 are setting themselves up for disappointment. Top 15 will keep us winning and in SEC title discussions IMO.

I don't think you understand how recruiting works. Multiple of these guys who are current commits won't be 3*'s on NSD and some won't be apart of this class..... Michigan had 15 3*'s last year and was a top 5 class. Tennessee 2015 class, the one everyone says was amazing had 12 3*'s and was what #4 in the country?

I think both those classes you mentioned were in large part due to signing 30+ kids. We aren't in that position this year.

Tennessee will sign between 23-28. We are in for multiple high rate guys. Higgins, Smith, Chandler, Gibbs, Williams Gaddy Will all be vols. Then You have guys like Wade, Akers, who's 50/50 on the vols. We'll easily sign a top 10 class

Half of these guys will get bumps throughout the season. People need to understand that Butch has former NFL scouts working up there viewing tape on kids. I'll trust their decision making. Also, most of these high 4 stars and 5 stars won't start committing for a while. They're enjoying the process, as they should.

We signed 21 last year with 10 being 4* and 11 3*. That class had an average star rating of 89. We were 14th class wise.

Thus far this class of 17 has 4 4* and 13 3* with an average of 86. Top 10 IMO is a reach. I think we end up right about the same 14 type class as last year.

Currently ranked 7th on 24/7 Sports. There will be changes between now and February.

With class calculator I added Higgins, Smith, Chandler, Both Gaddy's, Williams, Gibbs, Wills, Wade, Holloman. That would put us at 27 commits and not including all the bumps the players get or the ones that don't stay committed and get better players. Our class score would be 279.49. That would be good enough for #7 last year and #7 for 2015 too. So yea, we will easily have a top 10 class with a good chance at top 5

Last year we didn't sign nearly the star power we will sign this year. Higgins, Smith, Gibbs will all be 5*'s and will all be vols. We signed 0 5*'s last year. Easily top 10

You're adding guys like they are locks when obviously they aren't. You're also basing it on ALL the commits can only get bumped up. You know getting a bump down is also possible right?

No, it's based on non of the recruits getting bumped lol. But we know multiple will have HUGE bumps up. Like Fant who will be a high 4*.

Currently, but they'll all go up. It's natrual for composite to boost them as they preform. Especially since Smith is #3 in the country on 247 and they dropped Gibbs because if an injury.

It's mixed bag right now. I don't really look at stars as much as I do offer lists. We have some good ones like Bumphus and Gray, but some of these guys Butch is getting committed have really putrid offer lists, like embarrassingly bad. I think Butch's track record suggests no one should panic yet, but I'm hoping he closes with some really big fish.

Also, Gibbs, Smith, Higgins, Gaddy bros, Williams, Chandler are pretty much vol locks. You must not follow recruiting lol. The others are more 50/50 but if we don't sign them we will sign players just as good like Holloman or Foster.

Ok, I'll play along.

We have 4 4* today. Add Gibbs, Smith, Chandler, Williams(not a lock imo), and Gaddy. Takes us to 9 4*. Add Higgins as a 5* and Gaddy as a 3*.

That's 1 5*, 9 4* and 14 3*.

Top 5-7? I don't think so.

I hate to say it but I am incredibly underwhelmed with this class. Hopefully I am wrong and with Butch's track record I'm sure I am but no one wows me yet except for Gray.

I already looked it up. Based on the numbers from the past 2 seasons it would be #7 lol
