'17 class has 1 OL commit

2017 class has 1 verbal commitment for an offensive lineman. I believe Tennessee currently has 25 commitments. How many can Butch sign? Why the absolute ineptness of having or recruiting high quality lineman on the offensive side? I just simply don't get why he doesn't sign 4/5 a class......

If you check our 2 deep you'll be surprised how many 3stars we have starting and playing key roles. Sports source did this in the preseason. I tried to find a link but could not. Three stars make up the bulk of most college teams included ours. Hopefully you get enough 4 5s to get special play makers. Naturally play rankings are flawed and some players develop better. Because there are more three star players on a team many become starters. Some 4& 5s bust. So while an average rank near 4 would be better don't knock a high 3 star player. Especially in the Oline where it takes two years to bulkup.
FYI Michigan had about 14 3 stars in their 2016 class.

I am glad we are getting some good Oline players. At least we will have talent waiting if a new position coach is hired. I don't have a lot of confidence in Mahony but I trust Butch to do what's needed.
