'17 CT QB CJ Lewis (Former TN commit 7/23/16)

What hoops? Lewis attended the spring game and a QB camp. That's nothing more than any other guy trying to earn scholarships across the country.

The staff offered the QB with the best showing at the camp. How's that their fault? How's it their fault he didn't build on his camp success? How would anyone know there were no contingencies - for instance having a good season and holding the starting job?

Leb isn't looking for a chance to offer his opinion. He's relishing in the opportunity to bash the staff, even if it's for something that happens at all schools. The staff took a small chance on someone that didn't pan out. Cue the trolls. . .

Excellent post. His deciding to look elsewhere isn't surprising. The guy just regressed.

It is interesting to watch it play out. Kid commits with a terrible offer list and everyone tries to justify it with the "staff is excellent at finding hidden gems in the evaluation process". When it plays out the offer list was accurate and he's not a good QB, well it's not on the staff. What happened to that top notch evaluation process?

Whoops.

Excellent contribution of your own there champ. You are either Crunch himself or simply blind if you can't see the guy (maybe you?) has a clear agenda. EVERY single one of his posts is a passive aggressive shot at someone or something in this program. Ironically, in insulting another's post you brought literally nothing yourself either. Congratulations.

I have never seen him attack another poster the way he is often. Not a secret that he doesn't like the staff throwing offers around to everyone, accepting a commitment only to loose interest and start looking elsewhere. I don't care who they take or who they let go because it's part of recruiting. The only agenda I see is him being consistent in not taking early commitments from questionable athletes.

I feel an upgrade is coming since the coaches reevaluated and decided to go in a different direction.

This is a stupid article and wrong but it's relative.

I have no problem that it's his opinion. I get that. What we get tired of is that it is an old, played out shtick of his and honestly it is nothing but complaining about something he cannot change.

And I agree, I do think an upgrade is coming. The question is, is it a major upgrade or a slight upgrade?

Here is a quote from that "article":

"Tennessee currently only has Quinten Dormady as the only other QB on the roster after Dobbs."

Really? We don't have two other guys that were 4* recruits and very well thought of QBs? No? Lol.

Would love to see a major upgrade to the LB or DL core and not just a QB roster spot filler.

Fanbuzz is breaking new ground and predicting JG and SJ will transfer or just ignorant about our great depth at that position. Sorry I posted a link to that crap.

I look at a lot of these 3 and 4 stars recruits in the last few classes, whom are now the 2nd and 3rd string players, that cant block, tackle, or turn their head to locate the ball and all I hear is that the coaches are not coaching them up to their potential. Maybe the coaches overestimated their potential.

Not for long, they'll all transfer and succeed elsewhere lol :p

It's in his best interest for him to look elsewhere. Coaches had hopes he would explode his senior year and apparently he did not. Also, we were hoping he would lure his HS WR teammate to us.

Here are some others we are looking to replace him.

extending offers to three-star prospect Bubba Thompson of Mobile, Ala., three-star South Carolina commitment Jay Urich of Piedmont, S.C., and four-star Virginia Tech commitment Hendon Hooker of Greensboro, N.C., since last month.

Three-star QB parts ways with Tennessee

The question that I haven't seen asked is how the staff's evaluation of this kid could have been so far off considering he lost his starting job in HS...

He didn't continue to develop. It's not a miss unless they sign him and he doesn't develop after 4 years. The players have to do their part to make it to signing day - grades, stay out of trouble, and not stink it up their last year on the field.

He lost it during the season...not before they offered. Sorry, that's how your post read.
