'17 CT QB CJ Lewis (Former TN commit 7/23/16)

It is absolutely far fetched. In no way is there any chance that someone would go from Quality Control Coach to Offensive Coordinator.

Find me one example or precedent of something like that.

Isnt Steve Sarkisian an OQC coach at Bama?

Feel bad for the kid, but probably for the best. Never figured he would make an impact at UT, but he jumped through a lot of hoops making multiple trips to Knoxville to throw for the staff and earning his offer. His commitment was one I thought they would honor considering what he did to get to commit. Nothing surprises me anymore. IMO it just shows the staffs evaluations are VERY questionable at best.

Man the big time college recruiting is just about as cut throat as it gets! There's a lot of shady moves made by both the recruit and the school. It just makes me wonder if the NCAA will ever really consider the early signing period? The last 5 years or so, we have really seen the rise of early committing and then decomitting by players, and then comes the schools pulling offers from kids when they land a kid thats more talented. And then comes the worse IMO, is when a coach pulls a offer from a recruit and leaves him out to dry right before NSD!

You continue to amaze. You have ZERO idea what was said to this kid by staff or what promises were made or what conditions were placed on the offer. The only this questionable here is why the hell you post on here....

Thank goodness for the ignore button

And nowhere in his post was any kind of statement that eluded to anything other than his opinion. Thanks for sharing how you feel about crunchy. The insight you bring is non-existent.

Some poster named Tonybalogna ask me to ask you to change the thread title to "former UT commit". He also said to say "Thànks!"

If anyone currently on staff is the OC next year it won't be any improvement.

Gillespie would be a nice guy to try out, though he has no coordinator experience that I know of. He has been around the game enough, been on enough staffs, and has coached up his position well enough to warrant a shot. If we don't give it to him, someone else will, and he is the only offensive staff member we can't afford to lose IMO.

He's also been very loyal to Butch and Tennessee for a guy who isn't an alumnus (and in fact, is an alumnus of one of our most bitter rivals). He's had chances to go other places. I'd be fine giving CRG a shot at OC.

What hoops? Lewis attended the spring game and a QB camp. That's nothing more than any other guy trying to earn scholarships across the country.

The staff offered the QB with the best showing at the camp. How's that their fault? How's it their fault he didn't build on his camp success? How would anyone know there were no contingencies - for instance having a good season and holding the starting job?

Leb isn't looking for a chance to offer his opinion. He's relishing in the opportunity to bash the staff, even if it's for something that happens at all schools. The staff took a small chance on someone that didn't pan out. Cue the trolls. . .

And CBJ is the puppet master of the offense. As of now...to stubborn to change it. To me it's using your personal to their strength. We do alot of times....others times they are hammering that round peg in the square hole like a stubborn child imo

That is exactly what I got from Crunchy's post. The staff evaluated and offered someone that didn't pan out. He said nothing about promises or contingencies more saying that they should not have accepted his commitment. I think him questioning the evaluation by the staff is justified since it appears that they don't want him anymore and trying to get in on some other QB's late in the cycle.

The staff missed on the evaluation and looking around.

Excellent contribution of your own there champ. You are either Crunch himself or simply blind if you can't see the guy (maybe you?) has a clear agenda. EVERY single one of his posts is a passive aggressive shot at someone or something in this program. Ironically, in insulting another's post you brought literally nothing yourself either. Congratulations.
