"Hey guys, sorry just now getting to the board and I know Bennett has tweeted it, but a nice pickup for the Vols.

He's a guy that we heard some rumblings at the end of the week but being an Alabama legacy, I didn't think he would actually pull the trigger for the Vols. I stand corrected."

Damn I didn't realize his dad was such a good player. Before my time. Over 70 sacks in a decade plus long NFL career. Impressive

All Kivon Bennett heard growing up was how he needed to be like his father.

“All I heard growing up was, ‘Be like Biscuit. Be like Biscuit,” the 6-2, 250-pound St. Thomas Aquinas junior defensive lineman said. “I think it was hard for me at first because I felt like if I didn’t meet certain expectations I would probably never meet them.

“But now as far as growing up, I’ve adjusted to it. I’ve learned to use it as fuel. It’s such a great example that’s been set. If I can be like my dad or better that’s amazing for me.”

...Bennett’s emergence has been as valuable as any during the Raiders’ playoff run. After Bosa’s son, Nick, a five-star recruit and Ohio State commitment, went down with a partially torn ACL for the season in October, Bennett has gone from being a rotation player at the start of the season to a key starter since the playoffs began.

Bennett finished the season with 31 tackles, 9 TFL & 5 sacks, most of which came during Aquinas' playoff run.

Huh? Dad was an outstanding player in most people eyes.

He's a legend for Bama fans to tell the truth.
I'd honestly never really heard of the name. Being 22 he was out of college well before I was born. I have tons of bammer friends and had never heard of the name.

I was just saying looking up his dad I wasn't expecting a 70 sack NFL career and that's what I found

Daddy was a dirty player.

What a load of crap! Sick and tired of people over the last 31 years saying Biscuit played dirty to knock T. Robinson out of game....never have bought it...

Cornelius Bennett played how many years in the NFL and made how many pro Bowls...and to my knowledge--NO ONE ever has claimed that he was dirty.....GET OVER IT!

Cornelius Bennett was a bad ass. Doesn't matter where he went to college. I agree, he did take Robinson out, but he wasn't playing dirty. He was playing hard, just like he always did. I hope we can hang on to his son. Will be sweet seeing a Bennett and a McKenzie on the same line together.

CB was a stud! I got to party with him in Alanta when he played with the Falcons. Supper nice guy that spoke fondly of TN. Said he considered TN before picking Bama. The bookends of Bennett and Copeland was two of the best ever. Before someone says he was a outside Iinebacker, he played in the DE position more often than not. I hate Bama but CB was/is a classy dude.

So who was recruiting this guy for Bama? Wonder if this is the case of kid trying to blaze his own path and not have to want to be compared to his dad?

Regardless, if Bama puts on the press and he sticks I will love it!

respectfully, i wonder if you are thinking of curry and copeland being the bookends of the national championship team. i don't think bennett played on that team. i could be wrong.

Hopefully Butch sat him and maybe dad down and got a feel for what Bama pressing for a commitment would mean going forward. I'd imagine Butch felt he'd stick if Saban came calling if he took the commitment today. Of course things can change. Kid looks like a DL player.

Alabama did not win a NC in the 80's, which is when CB played there.
