'17 FL OLB Santino Marchiol (Texas A&M commit)

Recruiting is really starting to turn around!! Think we moved into top 25 after Crosby commit, and we'll probably move into top 20 after Marichiol commit. Then Wooten is likely to commit to us as well which could possibly move us into top 15. Our expected recruiting is starting to shine through.

Get Tee, Gray, Gibbs, Stevens, Smith and throw in a few more and that's a top 3-5 class.

Edit: forgot about Cam Akers and Ty Chandler.

It may be but Burnam won't be a part of this class February 2017.

Is this a guess or something you have inside info on? I was really hoping we wouldn't go down this road again this year. If we are not going to stay with them don't take the commitment.

But that is just me!

He is also taking visits and some feel like he is about to blow up. All the Opening 40 times were slow for everyone there. Also, he was MVP of Atlanta Camp. I think he is saying he is a guy who we will ask to leave because he is a three star. However, it did not take the staff by surprised. He committed while in CBJ's office. This is a guy they want but I am sure he could change his mind and like anyone else, if he doesn't do what he is suppose to do, they could pull it. But, O and G can correct me, but I think he thinks Mo is not really that good and was a reach thus his reasoning about not making it to signing day.

Just a guess. I have no insider info and I won't act like I do lol

Yeah I just don't think he's good enough. I'm not a star gazer and basing it off of his 3 stars either. I don't consider myself an expert but his tape just isn't as impressive as some of our LB targets including Wooten and Marchiol. Just my opinion

We've gone down this road every year with Butch.

I don't have a problem with it. It's his job to secure the best possible class for The University of Tennessee, irrespective of the feelings of anonymous message board posters.

All the Opening 40 times were slow for everyone there. Also, he was MVP of Atlanta Camp.

Out of about 260 participants who ran the 40 in Atlanta w/ Burnam, 29 recorded 4.60 times or better. And out of the 25 LBs who ran the 40, 21 registered faster times than Burnam and 9 were 4.70 or under (Solon Page's 4.59 was the top time.)

Burnam's shuttle time was right in the middle; half of the other LBs were faster, half slower.

While Marchiol's 40 time in Charlotte was just the 16th best of 20 LB participants, his shuttle time ranked 1st out of 29 LB participants.

Never saw it coming. I thought for sure we would finish around 40 in the rankings :dunno:

^This. In a perfect world, no one's feelings get hurt and we all stay friends. Butch has completely overhauled our talent level. At least in recruiting and talent procurement he's earned full leeway.
