We finally have the talent and depth where we don't have to rely on freshman. Let the coaches bring in their guys and develop them. I want to land guys like Smith, Stevens, Higgins, and Gibbs too, and think we have a shot at landing them, but out of our current commits, I don't see anyone who doesn't fit our offense or defense. This kids film looks good. I'm liking the speed we've been bringing in.

I'm in the band of not worrying about the recruiting rankings until we win big this fall.

The Title IX case, the lack of players drafted into the NFL the last two years, the public perception that Butch is a big game choker (and can't be expected to handle the big expectations this fall), and the inability to sell early playing time all are contributing to our slow start in recruiting in my opinion. The slow start is not a good thing at all (no way to sugar coat it), but it is also not irreversible. If we win next fall, these worries will go away.

With that said, all I'm reading on this kid he sounds legit. Let's not knock because he ain't a 5 star today. He might well become at least a 4 star by the fall. And frankly, who cares about stars if the kid's an athlete and fits our system?
