'17 GA CB/WR Jamyest Williams (S. Carolina commit)

So it's more important to have a high ranking on recruiting stars than to get players who fit your scheme and the coaches' philosophy

Of course you want guys who fit your scheme and philosophy. Of course all the offers out to the top 150-200 guys tell me ALOT of those guys would have fit as well. History tells us if you're not signing top classes you're not going to be winning titles in the SEC. I'm all for Butch taking guys who fit. I'd just rather as a whole they don't rank middle of the pack in the SEC. I believe Butch would not be taking guys ranked in the 700's and 800's if he could get better talent. Problem right now looks like we can't.

I feel like you're so sincere in your efforts to be a good person. I want to give you credit for that.

I do try to be a good person on here. Some members just get me all riled up by their un-necessary comments. I'm supposed to turn the other cheek & I admit too many times that I don't do that.

Thanks for the kind words & have a great evening buddy. I make mistakes too myself. I'm not perfect for sure! Thanks again!

Good God there is a numbers thread and yet Leb still infects every thread with numbers.

Back to this guy Williams, I wonder why so many top notch coaches lost him to Muschamp? It was brought to my attention that nobody should ever lose out to Muschamp for a recruit. Whats going on here?

Probably because Muscock is pretty good at defense

You're correct. Which is one of the reasons why McElwain shouldnt be praised as much as he has been. WM left him stocked with defensive talent. We all know that defense wins championships.

IMG looked like the better D by far. IMG players taunt Williams after the game, say being a USCe commit is weak sauce (no mention of pumping gas at USC). It was funny ESPN kept showing him at 5'10", he is 5'7" maaaaybe. Kid has heart and determination. If he was 5'10 he would be a top 25 player.

I would hope IMG D was better considering they steal top players from all over the country. They should probably be beating everyone by 50. not a fan of what IMG does or what even Greyson was doing to an extent.

They lost all the most skilled players they had on offense. Few guys here and there on defense. I mean you can try to argue if you want. Just watch. They'll be horrendous. Get back to me then. Well Vandy isn't good but they have a much better defense than Carolina and Carolina won't stop the run. They'll edge Carolina out.

Neither looked very good obviously, but once again Vandy came up short.

It wasn't tough for Spurrier.

Regardless of facilities Muschamp can still sell more recent success, playing time, and how many defensive players are in the NFL that played under him. Just thought he would be further along in his defensive recruiting at this point.

Spurrier and top 10 classes at USC were few and far between. He got top 25 classes and coached them to top 5 rankings because he's a hell of a coach.

The US stated he's not playing much. So what does thst tell you
Usually players are looking for a place they can start. Winning of course is a pull but it’s not the most important thing. Hell Bryant probably could’ve picked a better school than Missouri. They just pretty much guaranteed a starting position. Relationship with coaches and playing time trump everything else for most transfers. Carry on though
