Sterling loved his USCe visit but says it is still 50/50..but the interesting note is that he admitted that UT coaches haven't been in touch with him this week...Callahan thinks that for Vols to take him someone would have to sign elsewhere

That's what I'm thinking. If they aren't taking to him, we have to have another DE, they must think we're getting Ray is all I can figure. I hope that's right

It's my understanding we can sign up to 29 with 3 shirts(blue & gray). That means we have one more to sign & if we don't get Ray then it's got to be either Conliffe or Sterling.

Somebody on the DL for sure. If we can't get any of those then it's hard to say what CBJ will do with that last commit. Possibly another WR like Pouncey.

The biggest thing with him is he says he hasn't communicated with the coaches in a week. That says a lot.

I don't either. Sterling said his visit was "awesome," but that was the extent of his praise for the visit. It is possible that because he didn't go into a lot of detail or didn't show his hand, the USCe fans on 247 read into it a little bit.

I trust that Callahan has a decent read on where we stand with recruits for the most part, but I think his guess is just as good as yours or mine when it comes to our numbers in this class. We are obviously tight, but who knows if someone gets turned away late. For example, it happened with that DE from FL last year, IIRC. He went to Rutgers, I believe.

I may be dead wrong on this, but I do not think this is accurate. I am pretty sure that we do not have any carryover from 2016 to sign 26 initial counters for 2017.

I'm going by what Kristy* & a couple of others have said about the situation. I don't know myself. It's either 26 or 25 for sure though for LOI's for 2017. :p

However, if it's not 26 then we don't have room for Ray or anybody else that's unless the 3 shirts are wrong.

South Carolina fans got some good news a little earlier than they were supposed to on Wednesday.

South Carolina jumped the gun and announced the signing of 3-star DE Aaron Sterling early on National Signing Day. The problem is, Sterling isn’t committing until 9 a.m. The athletic department quickly removed his name from their list of commitments.
