'17 GA LB Chandler Wooten

"Georgia linebacker Chandler Wooten is expected to commit in May and while it's a very close race between Auburn and Tennessee, the Kennesaw, Ga., star has been giving the Vols some positive signs in recent days.

While nothing is done at this point and no final decision has been made from what we understand, the Vols are at least in a good spot two weeks out."

Would love to get this guy and Marchiol. I would add Taylor to that list as well. At this point, with his weight issues, I could care less about Foster.

Won't be sad to see us part ways with any of our current LB commits.

I wouldn't let Bembry go, idk if he is on your list of our LBs, but you don't let speed that size go.

They (fans) actually thought the Berry brothers we going to sign with them.

Because of the Trooper connection. Same fans (as well as multiple CB experts) had Warrior in the bag for Auburn as well.

I believe they recruited Bembry as a DE. Wooten to me looks like an OLB all the way. His film is that of a pro-typical SEC LB. I really like his game.

Question on 247:

Wooten looks vastly underrated to me when I watch his film. He looks like your pro-typical big-time SEC LB prospect IMO. Thoughts on him?

Callahan's response:

Yeah, I think Wooten is a really good player. He's pretty high on Tennessee's board. There's a reason the Vols and Auburn both would love to have him. He's a pretty sharp kid, too, so it's not a stretch to envision him becoming a Darrin Kirkland-type middle linebacker at the next level — really athletic, but at least adequate size to play the Mike position and hold his ground between the tackles. He's also athletic enough to play Will linebacker in UT's defense.

"Just finished up meeting with Wooten and first off he's a great young man. Top notch.

As for his recruitment, he says it's down to Tennessee, Auburn and Florida. From talking to him and bases on our conversations in the past I still believe it will be either UT or AU.

He said he hasn't told anyone his decision yet but is pretty at piece with what's he's thinking. He said he's extremely close to Tennessee's staff, but mentioned that Auburn feels like home.

His plan is to announce next Friday after his spring game. He's not giving away any hints at all so it's hard to get a read on him right now."

Vol, IMO. I think Fortenberry is trying to let the kid have his moment. But he knows.

Of course Auburn feels like home...they probably will buy him a home if he signs with them.

Interesting conflicting reports from Vq and scout

Scout says he committed a month ago but wanted to wait until the date to go public
