Being the closest SEC school to Atl, Columbus and South Ga is a big actor. They also have been better the last 5-7 years. Played in two NCs and a Cam is their Tebow to these kids.

True. You're more than likely right about Gus getting canned but proximity to home is a factor as well as popularity. Name a more popular player than Dab with African American kids? Miami hasn't been worth a damn in over 10 years but the thought of playing in front of family and the legacy of the U still is huge for most SoFla kids.


They've also had some really good recruiters on staff there under Chiz and Gus.
