'17 GA WR Jeremiah Holloman

He's not better than Byrd. And GA isn't even using him on offense. I'd rather have Byrd any day of the week than Mecole

I'd rather have both.

Bizarrely Byrd is better suited to be a CB but we're playing him at WR while Mecole is better suited to be a WR but UGA is playing him at CB.

Its weird. Both guys would be better off if they switched places.

The possibility is not as much of a stretch as you would like to believe. Also, remember it's an opinion.

It's not like the guy was comparing Jadeveon Clowney to Greg Miclisse, geez.

I think the comparison should be miscast WR playing DB vs All-Pro Thorpe winner...that equals STRETCH.

I think Byrd is going to be outstanding regardless of position.

Interesting comment.

What is it about Byrd and Hardeman that makes you think both are better suited for different positions? Byrd, I can sorta see, but we needed the help on the offensive side. Considering the almost immediate impact Byrd has had in fall camp, I would say that throws your opinion into question.

For Hardeman, the idea that they are using him wrong seems strange to me. They were already supposedly the strongest defensive backfield in the SEC before adding him, but their WR corp is generally stocked with question marks.

Perhaps the coaches there disagree with you too.

You think Tyler Byrd would be better as a CB than a WR? I don't agree with that. When you have a playmaker like him you want him to have the ball in his hands. Have you watched any of his PR's from his junior & senior years in high school D4H?

This kid is dynamic. He needs to the ball in his hands. He can't do that playing CB. I'm telling you guys Byrd is going to go down as one of the best playmakers that UT has EVER had. That's as long as he does stay at WR & I don't see it changing.

We are too loaded in the secondary & Byrd's best fit in my opinion is at WR. When Sutton leaves, he will then take over PR duties as wel & then we'll get to see the real Tyler Byrd. It's going to be fun to watch. Some of that fun I think with Byrd will make happen this season as well.

Very premature to say he'll go down as one of UT's best playmakers ever when he's never even played in a game yet at UT.

That's what I'm predicting there bud. That's MY OPINION! I didn't guarantee a thing but his skills are some of the best I've seen since a player like Dale Carter or Donte Stallworth.

Dale Carter was a DB.

Position doesn't matter. I'm talking about Dale Carter & his return ability. His athleticism & skillset. Byrd compares to him or even better. He might even be very close to as fast as Willie Gault when he was at UT too.

I bet this wasn't in reference to my post about Byrd was it chris? I know you! You don't let hardly any post of mine go by without some sort of comment. :)

Byrd is a dominant level DB. GOOD WR but flat out monster DB. IMO

Mecole is a mediocre DB at best but an elite slot man. That's the difference between the two. IMO

We were talking about POSITIONS in that little mini-debate. Since Carter's was at DB your example seemed out of place...if you were arguing for Byrd at WR.

I wasn't paying any attention to positions. Sorry if you'll were & I gave an example of a person out of position.

Dale Carter was a man. Yes a big man.
With an eye like an eagle and as tall as a mountain was he.

He was brave, he was fearless and as tough as a mighty oak tree
