'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

They have been a joke for 25 years...

They just played for a national championship in 2013. Of course, they got trounced by Bama. But if you told me right now we could play for a national title this year but get trounced in it, I'd take it lol. Likely means we'd beat Bama once and maybe twice in the SEC championship game.

Just playing :naughty: advocate here lol.

The only reason Johnson would pick ND is because of our depth chart at QB, with the possibility of Trevor coming in the year after him as well. Very competitive at UT. Not so much at ND. He'd basically start from day one there.

I called ND before because my in laws all live in Brownsburg and know his dad. I think ND wins out in the end but not as confident in that as before. Love Butch's recruiting.

Also, I think JG hurts our chances a smidge.

If anyone on here has never been to ND then I suggest you go. South Bend itself isn't all that great but that is a beautiful campus and is very easy to get around. Walking into the stadium was awesome and had a certain nostalgia to it (kinda like old Yankee Stadium or Fenway). I would like to see this kid become a Vol but I can see where ND is a serious playa

Then I'd probably not want him anyways. At the end of the day, if the depth chart scares you, you probably won't be that succesful anyway. The best players are usually the most competitive and those with the most confidence. If he's the #1 overall QB in the 2017 class, he shouldn't be scared of competiting against less touted prospects in the classes above him or a more highly touted prospect in the class below him.

We've seen USC recruit #1 QB after #1 QB for a stretch there in the 2000s. We've also seen Alabama routinely recruit #1 prospects at the same position year after year. If he chooses ND over us, I'd hope its for something more than being afraid of competing.

Probably wants to see what Sanford does with that offense.

Gunner Keil approves this message.

I always thought this kid liked Tennessee better than Notre Dame. I called Vol a long time ago.

If we pull classes of:

Dormady/S. Jones
Guarantano
Johnson
Lawrence

My Lord folks

Im afraid if this comes to fruition with all these top QB's coming here over the next couple years that 1 or 2 of those might transfer. Still hope this becomes reality.

THat just means someone is keeping it 8 more than 92 and locking down that spot

Notre Dame has signed a top 10 QB in each of the last 3 classes. Recruiting QB's doesn't seem to be a problem for them.

"Brownsburg (Ind.) High five-star 2017 quarterback Hunter Johnson won't visit Notre Dame on Saturday, his family tells 247Sports.

Johnson has team obligations coming off a scrimmage Friday evening."

That doesn't sound overly promising for us TBH but the ND fan comments sound like they are skeered.

The wiftlong CB prediction along with Callahan within hours of each other is all I need to know. Wiftlong had him pegged to ND for a while and I thought he would never change his prediction

Good points. And Wilted-dong is a Midwest recruit aficionado correct?
