'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

Tough call on the season. If they stay healthy from here on out I think 8-4 is a realistic expectation. I feel really good about the defense across the board. They are still a year or two behind on the OL. The talent is there but it's concentrated in the freshman and sophomore classes.

I'll be honest, I don't know what to expect out of DeBord. I like what I've heard so far but until I actually see him call a few games I just don't know what to expect. I will say this I was not a fan of Jake, especially in the passing game. I realize there were severe limitations with Worley at QB but how many times a game did he run the exact same bubble to Pig or Pearson? I thought he did a very poor job of getting the outside WR's involved in the offense. Routes were too long and too slow in developing and he did not take advantage of one on one matchups on the outside. I'm really hoping DeBord does a better job of getting guys like North and Malone involved in the offense.

Has anyone ever seen BB and Montrell Hardy in the same place at the same time?

Thanks for the reply. :hi:

I agree with your points on the OL and passing game. Need to get those big WR's on the outside more involved somehow.

You're right about the D too, I think they're top 3 in the SEC this fall. Going to be SCARY good. Should make '16 and '17 that much more fun. :)

I think 9-3 is realistic as long as Dobbs stays healthy all season.

Agree with everything you said. I suspect your last paragraph issue is what some of our top receiver targets are waiting to see. If they see a lot of improvement in the play calls and passing game we may pull Hardman for example. Doubt we have much chance if they see screen after screen after screen like last year.

Our 17 class is going to be great. So much instate talent, and legit interest in the vols. Can't wait to see how that class is going to turn out.

The Notre Dame 247 forum thinks he is about to commit to Tennessee. Their writer Steve Wiltfong switched his CB to TN on Friday.

FWIW, wiltfong is one of the main recruiting guys for 247, he is not the ND writer. The ND writer is Tom Loy and he is one of the biggest homers ever.

Wiltfong is MONEY.

Can we get some crybaby Notre Dame board quotes?

Some of my favorites from the ND 247 board

Tennessee was the big stage during the Clinton Administration.

Steve,

What is making a bright kid like this consider Tennessee? They are a joke in football, are an academic nightmare and have zero history since Peyton Manning of developing a QB.

I am not saying Hunter is getting cash but something has to be happening for a good kid to go this direction.

When is the last time Tennessee has been considered "the big stage"? confused

Tell me one qb yet one player butch jones has sent to the nfl within three rounds none .

I'll take ND seriously when they join a conference fully and participate in a conference championship game. They will be forced to do so with the playoff if they want to be in it.
