'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

Good grief lighten up. How do you build momentum? Win games! If you cannot grasp that come back to the board in February.

If we don't finish in the top 15 Ill go to church the Sunday after NSD.

I sure would have liked to build off some of that there momentum coming off the first 9 win season at UT in a long while. Those top recruits and possibly our best class EVER was primed to start to roll in!

doesn't always go as planned as early as some of you would like. so you can either complain incessantly or have just a little patience as Axl would say.

Or as the eternal bard Brett Michaels opined..."Every Rose Has It's Thorn". :peace:

Likely headed for a drop on 247. Finished 12 of 12 QBs for entire weekend on Barton's updated rankings. Not exactly what they expect from #1 QB. I get the feeling Davis Mills, Tua, or Fromm will be their top QB very soon

12. Clemson commit Hunter Johnson - It just wasn't Johnson's weekend. More specifically it just wasn't Johnson's day on Saturday. On Sunday, he scored a touchdown on the only drive under center before his team was eliminated from play. Had he been able to steal another game under center, he may have heated up and had a run similar to what Shea Patterson made last year. Instead, Johnson was forced to stand on a rough Saturday outing

- 247 (Simmons)

Above is the quote from B. Simmons' ratings for those wondering what was said. He will likely drop in their ratings when updated. What OV said a while back is may be starting to show itself at these camps and in live competition outside of his HS film. Simmons had Bama's QB commit (a current 3 star) as the #1 performer in the Elite 11, so I would expect a huge jump in the rankings for him.

In terms of UT's QB recruiting, I think we can afford to take a lower rated guy this year, but we should be going all out for Emory Jones in 2018.

I think its silly at it it's silliest to act like this class is going well. We have no momentum with any of the elite players we're after. Any hiccups this season and we'll be lucky to finish top 25.

Which will put us back battling for third in the SEC. This is THE make or break year, most important since Fulmer left imo

Wish we would go after that Tua kid for 2017 too

No pressure though huh? My biggest concern is not that we are not talented enough, or coached well enough, to win big this year and therefore finish big in recruiting. My worry is that pressure is going to cause an implosion. Too much is riding on this season. Other teams struggle, and just keep on recruiting highly, we make real, statistically quantified improvement...and recruiting is going like wisdom tooth extraction.

Only for some.

I'm not surprised he was a disappointment. He had a terrible junior season for a supposed "elite" QB. Some of these guys doing the rankings need to get over the obsession of having great "arm strength", especially when that is basically your only good asset as a QB prospect.

So you're saying Hunter may have road the short yellow bus to school.
