I always thought JG was the better athlete overall than HJ. The recruiting services just liked HJ better for whatever weird reason considering he was the #1 overall QB in '17. We're alright at the QB position.
What do you mean liked him better? They're 2 separate classes and 2 different types of QB's; they have nothing to do with the other. Yet, you keep comparing them as if it's one or the other.
I recall a concern that adding JG would hurt our chances with Hunter Johnson. Add in Sheriron Jones and suddenly, QB decisions for 2016 have a significant effect on later years. So, yes, they are related. Lots of moving pieces in the game.
I'm no fan of this kid either.
But this is pathetically petty.
Doesn't mean you can't have both. He says he would rather have JG so screw HJ. Guess what, it's possible to have both and many would love to know we had 4 QB's on the roster.
Adding JG? He committed 4 months before HJ did. Johnson knew what we had when he jumped on board.
I'll give you that. It felt petty when I typed it. I started to delete, but I thought, nah..I feel grumpy about this class. It may be pathetic, it may be petty, but it is how I feel right now. So in essence, I really just don't care what anybody thinks. I don't like this dude...but heck it's just a silly forum, full of silly people talking about a silly game.
Obviously it isn't possible to have both if one decides (regardless of timing) that he doesn't want to show up behind JG and SJ. We aren't talking about how a generic kid makes a decision, rather how a specific one does it. IF HJ decided he didn't want to be behind JG, then the coach has to pick.
I think its silly at it it's silliest to act like this class is going well. We have no momentum with any of the elite players we're after. Any hiccups this season and we'll be lucky to finish top 25.
