And what's crazy is we brought in a JUCO DB last year in Henderson and as bad as our secondary is he still couldn't get on the field..Anyone know why?

VQ crew seems to think Nixon is down to Tennessee and South Carolina. He chose to visit Tennessee instead of Georgia and MSST.

Nixon is narrowing it down to a couple of SEC schools from several we've talked to and that means South Carolina and Tennessee. Nixon has seen several other schools west of the Mississippi, but he's very intrigued by playing in the South.

South Carolina has felt they are the team to beat, but Tennessee is making a legit surge down the stretch here. Butch Jones visited late last week to help secure this weekend's official (the Vols beat out UGA and Miss. State for the last OV) and then Willie Martinez was back in Arizona this week. This weekend will be very important with Nixon. He will be making a decision next week.

I know your sources are limited but I value your opinion. Do you think Terry Fair could be brought in with Shoop's blessing? I agree with others that Shoop should be given carte blanche over this staff with a focus on teaching fundamentals...just scattershooting wondering if he requires coaches he had previous time with.

from things I've heard, Shoop is willing to hire outside of his comfort zone but his preference would be guys he's worked with previously

I do think Fair is one of those guys that could be hired. He's got such a good reputation especially in our program & is proven not only here but elsewhere so yes, definitely a possibility

Thanks! Really pulling for that. I think he's a future talent. But it's more important that Shoop has everything he needs to install what is hopefully his true representative product.

A good selling point for sure. Here is my thing though this guy physically looks like stronger cornerbacks than we have been getting. This guy is built more like a Quincy Wilson at Florida than any CB we have here. Kid seems like he would be a very physical CB, and I hope he is as good in coverage as cam. It would be a good combo for sure.
