'17 NC DE Matthew Butler (UT Signee)

26 sacks from DT position? How is this guy not highly rated? Bad competition? Didn't camp anywhere?

You know that's a remake of a Bruce Springsteen song. In his version it's revved up like a deuce. Meaning a two seater muscle car.

The remake is "revved up like a deuce," just sounds like what Ivan stated.

I didn't realize it until I just looked it up, but Bruce's lyric was "cut loose like a deuce."

Never understood why manfred man changed that lyric? Perfer Springsteens version myself.

From Duke 247 analyst Adam Rowe yesterday:

Butler makes his announcement tomorrow, but at this time I do not expect him to choose Duke.

Also, get the feel that NC State has fallen behind. Seems like his final 2 likely came down to USCe and UT.

If Muschamp gets another one from Butch this place will be wild. Gut feeling says he's a Vol imo

SC rivals thinks Vol
They also thought TJ Moore was a vol when he committed to SC as well though

LOL! I know. The theme of the last couple of pages was what the lyrics are opposed to what we actually hear when he listen to a song. Manfred Mann sang 'revved up like a deuce,' but I hear 'revved up like a douche.'

I remember reading years ago that the original title to Iron Butterfly's Inagadadavida was In the Garden of Eden, but Doug Ingle used to slur the words so badly when he sang it that everyone heard Inagadadavida, so by the time they band went into the studio for production the song title became the latter.

This just in:

Butler suffered an extensive paper cut during a tutor session. Eyewitnesses reported seeing orange blood dripping from the cut. He is expected to make a 100% recovery from the wound by Christmas.

Edit:

Congrats Glicht, on your 10,000th post.

He rained on his own parade with it too

So are we thinking if he already has his mind made up that he's already picked Tennessee? Hope that's the case. This kid is a 4 star talent at DE or DT, whichever one he wants to play. I'm really curious though to see how Kyle Phillips and Kongbo perform in their natural DE positions next season. That's two guys that were both 5*'s by some services playing DE next season. I really think if they reach their potential that next years defensive line can be absolutely nasty!

Of course we have to stay healthy, but a starting line of: Phillips, Vickers, Mckenzie, Kongbo. Could be very good!

I agree, because Darrell Taylor is fast...but looking at the Vol snapchat Taylor is having trouble going up against Marcus Tatum. Having some kind of combination of Kongbo, Phillips, Taylor, Mixon, Austin Smith and perhaps Ray or Butler would be a pretty great lineup (at DE).
