'17 NC LB Justin Foster

The wildcard in this is Stanford, he is a very serious student and UT needs to wow him with our Engineering programs. Too bad he's not into Supply Chain, we are now ranked top five in the entire world.

The 247 article also said he's shed a bunch of weight and is getting back down to 245. He was almost 260 at one point.

Good to know. My daughter has one more semester in business analytics with collateral in supply chain management with a dual major in marketing. Maybe she can take care of papa.

Make sure she goes back after 3-5 years and gets that MBA in Supply Chain too. She'll be sittin pretty, and proud papa will have nothing to worry about.

:good!:

Maybe we can talk him into Nuclear Engineering. Top 5 in the US there too.

Speaking from experience? I graduated a few years ago with that degree.

She definitely wants to get that MBA. We talked about her just going ahead since she's basically graduating in three years but she wants to get some experience under her belt first. She's currently doing an internship in Australia as we speak.

That is always the best way to go IMHO. Get some experience, then go to Grad School if needed. I have to say Grad School helped me get my foot in the door but did not make me any better at my job.

When hiring, I will look at experience over education every single time.

Great degree. Good call on getting that internship experience too. SCM jobs paying VERY well right now, especially UT grads.

There are people that go the "straight through" route, but Business School is different from Med School or Law School. It really helps to have some real world experience before you go.

From what I've been told the UT Business Analytics degree is very sought after by companies as well.

The MS in Business Analytics is very new, not a lot of data on it. The University obviously hypes it...

I'd recommend she go the MBA route. She could always dual concentrate with Business Analytics if she wanted to.

I work for a Fortune 100, and the MBA is held in much higher regard than the MS (we pay them more too)

Awesome info, thanks. Her undergrad is business analytics with a colateral in Supply chain management. She was going to graduate in three years aND was going to lose a year of her scholarship so her adviser advised her to dual major so she'll have her marketing degree as well. She'll graduate with a 4.0 I think.

You can get a degree in underwater basket weaving, but as long as you manage some internship experience, it will pay off far more than a degree in your field and no experience.

I got a degree in Marketing and did four internships (HR, accounting, and two in different marketing fields) and I learned more in those internships than I did in any college course. Most jobs will send you to training anyway. For example, I work in finance and they sent me to get all of the certifications I needed.

In before MockingVol asks for her phone number. :)

But then again, she probably doesn't have time for dudes who sleep through their finals.

Beat me to the punch...

But hey that only happened once and I had good enough rapport with those professors/ grades that they allowed me to make them up! I'm an intellectual, I'm just the slightly scatterbrained, "natural" type instead of the studious type.

Agree. There are a lot of over educated dummies out there.:)

But I've got a nice smile, smarts, good sense of humor, and I'm in great shape. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me :)

Linebacker Justin Foster (Shelby, N.C./Crest) said Tennessee still has 'an edge' among his finalists.

"They are still in good shape," Foster said.

Foster visited Georgia earlier this month.

"That went good," Foster said of UGA. "Basically it was a private meeting where I got to meet all of the new coaches there since the last time I was there that staff wasn't there then."

Foster (6-4, 240) said he's dropped 30 pounds since the spring by changing his diet. He said he's working to get 235 pounds by the start of his senior season.

He also visited ND recently.
