'17 NC OL TJ Moore (former USCe commit)

Does anyone care about recruiting services and their stories other than people on here? So many on here are being led by the nose and being told what to think about player a or b instead of trusting a coach that saved the team from the gutter. Keep talking and he may just kick your butts back there and move on.

Butch has been doing a pretty good job so far IMO. Just needs to win more of those 4th quarter battles this year. I believe this will be the season when we all see what Butch can do.

A pretty good job?

It's UT, so they will always come back to some extent with a competent coach. But the way he's build the team, hyped the program, and poised for a big run, is nothing short of incredible.

Will not argue that. We just need 10 wins this year in the regular season.

and

One needs to be Florida.

Not only did they want him, but they were shocked when he went elsewhere. That's twice this year that Butch has been trolled by a recruit.

I agree with you on most things, but I think you missed the point as to why some are upset with this one. Imo, it is because Butch had him visit the day before he announces and apparently lets the recruiting services know he is choosing Tn, only to be made to look bad...again.

In the wall-o-tweets Jones sent out this morning, were there any that included Moore? - I missed it if so. Also, was there his typical cryptic tweet about getting stronger, etc.? - I missed it if so.

There's nothing to suggest Jones let recruiting predictors know anything. It's the way crystal balls work. They follow the visits and others jump on board when predictions start flowing in for a team.

Regardless, none of that is the point. People here didn't want Moore; now they *****. Who does this look bad to?

Well he had him in for a visit, so even if us as fans were not too high on him apparently Butch wanted him, yet to only be turned down... again is my point.

The good news is it is a long ways til signing day, so I am sure things will return to normal by then, you just got to admit, it has been an odd few weeks in recruiting for us?

From SEC Country:

With his commitment, Moore joins 2017 OL Eric Douglas in the Gamecocks 2017 class. The two offensive linemen from Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, N.C. represent half of South Carolina’s offensive line class.

Over the last several months, Douglas has been consistent with his pursuit.

“Every day, he sends me text messages. He calls me. He FaceTimes me … it’s every day. It’s at least every two hours out of the day,” Moore said.

Peer recruiting.

Probably had an honest discussion with the coaching staff to see where he would be in the depth chart. Even as a 4*, he would've been a developmental player on our roster and would have to redshirt. If we were to get guys like Exe and Smith he would have taken a backseat to those guys as well.

My point is, he is much more valued at SC and it showed in the way they recruited him. There is much more of a possibility he sees the field as an OL next year. Also, who knows, Muschamp may be slowly building something there and he wants to be part of it.

That was only because of the low numbers.

I get it. Pointing at the class size is easy. Something to consider though. Why was that class 21 signees? It was because of the 4 blue shirt guys. In reality you need to add them in as they count to 2016. Know what that does to the overall ranking? Not much. 2 lower rated 3 stars and 2 2 star guys. Also it brings down the average star rating. The 2016 class was a significant step back from the two previous classes.

And then throw in 2017. Seems like it's going in one direction at this point

2014, 2015, 2016 were all comparable. They were ALL very solid classes with similar rankings - regardless of the Negas trying to spin it poorly. If 2017 finished today, it would be a significant step back from the previous years. Lucky for us, it's not close to over. But please don't let that stop you from *****ing until Feb.
