I agree. Teams like OSU and Bama have shown us what kind of difference recruiting makes. I used to think it wasnt THAT big of a deal. I have been mistaken this whole time. Its a huge deal. We need the upper echelon players to start becoming a big time winning program again.

That's not true. About 20 3*'s become star players from each class, that's not including the good players that aren't very well known.

And the majority of all-pro players in the NFL were 3*'s or worse

This website is becoming like the finebaum show half the people on here do not know anything and just want to argue. Difference between 3 star and 5 star (besides 2 stars because some genius is going to say it) 3 star have developing to be done and 5 star a monkey can coach to wins. But the skill level can be as good or better with a 3 star but a lot of things come to play, poor techniques, poor high school coaching, poor competition and kid may not be wealthy enough or want to go the these camps.

What happens in the NFL is irrelevant. We are just talking about in college. Sorry but talent matters. There are reasons why guys like Saban, Meyer and Fisher win so many championships and games in general. They get the best players. There are more 3*s that become stars because there are just more of them.

What I really would like to see is some upper echelon Big Uglies! Some that do not require seasoning but are ready to go now, that and Linebackers. We do fine on QB's, receivers, athlete types but seem to lag a bit on the above mentioned.
Any of the OL's and Linebacker recruits, why wouldn't they want to come here, up and coming team with an immediate need. If we could get those, then we can compete with Bama. JMO

"I've been busy with school and football, so I hadn't really had time to go on any visits," Moore said. "But I'd been wanting to get back to Tennessee to see a game. The visit definitely increases my interest in them and I'm planning on take an official visit sometime in December.

"It was an amazing experience. A few of the things that really impressed me were the Vol Walk and also how many people actually knew who I was. Everybody was yelling my name while I was walking and when the players got off the bus, they all shook my hand. Coach (Butch) Jones also gave me a huge hug when he got off the bus like I was one of own players."

"He was asking what I waiting on and to join the family," Moore said. "It meant a lot that he talked to me one-on-one. We talk on the phone a lot, so I'm definitely comfortable around him. My parents also have a great relationship with him."

Your not going to win that argument. Saban says he will take his 4 and 5 stars and pound your 3 and 4 stars on a consistent basis

Don Mahoney is expected in North Carolina to see TJ Moore as the Vols could be labeled the favorite there at this point. But, he will likely take all five official visits so plenty could change.
