'17 NC OL TJ Moore (former USCe commit)

From Phil Kornblut:

Offensive lineman T.J. Moore is back to a two-team decision after his visit to South Carolina Saturday. In late June, he was going to make the call for either USC or Tennessee, but a month later, he also had N.C. State and North Carolina on his list, plus he was waiting on an offer from Alabama.

The Alabama offer still hasn't come, so he's basically finished waiting on Nick Saban, and the Tar Heels and Wolfpack also have fallen by the wayside leaving the Gamecocks and Vols back where they were a month ago.

Star gazers get ready to rejoice. Moore is projected as an OG btw

Sources said Moore was leaning toward Tennessee last month and earlier this month before the Vols received a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Riley Locklear and set their sights on fellow three-star lineman Billy Ross of Huntington, W.Va.

Ross also is scheduled to announce his decision late Sunday night, just before his team's first preseason practice. Tennessee and North Carolina emerged as the favorites to land Ross, and sources said he once planned to visit the Vols again this week. But Tennessee now has shifted its focus to Moore, and sources said Ross is likely to pick the Tar Heels.

On 247sports when you look at where TJ is rated, it has him as the 23rd ranked OT (on the composite it has him as the 29th OT). But when you click on the link it takes you to the OG rankings and he is no where on there. Maybe just a glitch? I see that they have him listed as OG under his name though.

I'm excited about this kid. A lot of ppl seem to think he's overrated. Not much film on him, but that league Mallard Creek plays in is competitive as hell. I'd be happy if he rounded out our OL class.

Great athleticism for a big man. Would be very happy to have him on the interior of our line. Butch, Mahoney, Debord continue to work wonders restocking the cupboards.

Looks like we are in great shape with Moore. South Carolina had to know they were on the outside looking in when Moore did not commit at their cookout. Just seems like he is not interested in playing for Muschamp and was waiting on UT to make a move.

Good to almost have him on board. Visited some of the South Carolina sites today and they seemed to be holding out very little hope. My only concern with Moore would be that he might flip if Alabama makes an offer but I think Bama is slow playing him right now and doubt they make an offer.

Recruiting Scoop

Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek four-star offensive lineman T.J. Moore has set a visit with Tennessee, which will be his last trip before making his announcement on August 1, assuming he sticks with his current announcement plan. While I would not characterize the visit as good news for the Gamecocks, I also would not suggest writing him off just yet. The Vols like Moore as a guard, while the Gamecocks fully believe he can be a tackle at the next level. Tackle is the money position for any lineman who may end up having an NFL future, which Moore could potentially become.

I believe Moore’s biggest concern with South Carolina remains his desire to win consistently at the college level and not having a good feel for where things are likely headed in Columbia since the current staff has not coached a game yet. Tennessee is further down the rebuilding road and has a stronger winning tradition than the Gamecocks. Moore has had more exposure to the South Carolina program, and I believe he has a better relationship with their staff than he does with Tennessee’s. The staff is going to have to use those relationships to make Moore feel comfortable about the future of the program and persuade him to buy in to being a part of that future.

USCe fans gave me hades during their peak years. I don't even have to say anything now. They know.

Off subject, there are no less than 4 different UGA fans here in Chiang Rai now. We need to keep that series on the Orange side, or I'm going to be in misery.

I I never paid much attention to them. We are still 25-7 against them and even though we had just about our worst 10 year stretch in school history and they had their best, we still went 6-4 against them in that time.

Tennessee expects offensive lineman TJ Moore to be on campus Sunday along with his whole family. The Charlotte offensive lineman has a top three of Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina State and if he indeed makes it in this weekend it's a big visit.

A good visit with Moore, who has only visited once for this past spring's Orange & White Game, could mean he chooses the Vols. He's scheduled to make an announcement on Monday, but we are trying to confirm if that's still the plan.

I know we're not supposed to compare white players and black players, but after Montrell mentioned center, it got me thinking he reminds me of Coleman Thomas
